very good food, the place is a lot less touristy than the boqueria in Barcelona. it's also smaller than the market in BCN but it's a very nice building with splendid glasswork.

I could move to Valencia just to buy produce, meat, fish, eggs, chicken, spices, olives, bread and bakery items of the quality sold at this market. We walked around the market mesmerized by the fresh food at such amazing prices. For someone who loves to cook and/or eat you have to visit this market. How fortunate for local restaurants to... A typical market where locals still do their shopping, so it's not for tourists only. We spent hours here and sampled all food that was on offer. A must do for food lovers. The food that has not 'travelled' to reach your table tastes so much better, we forget to appreciate it.

One of my favorite places in my city. A gorgeous architecture and a great atmosphere inside and around. A gift for the senses!

Since first going too Valencia 4 years ago, my wife & I visit every year when holidaying in Javea; it is only just over an hour away, but the hustle & bustle of the atmosphere and all the different vendors is fantastic. There are a huge number of vendors selling pretty much any fresh produce you could think of, whether... More

Go there and have a breakfast - just buy a fresh juice, some olives, some bread and enjoy the rush of people, fruits, vegetables, spices, meat, fish... Just eat your breakfast and see the market. When you are full, go for a coffee to the bar in the middle of the market. If your are love food - you will... More

I arranged a 2 night hotel stay to Valencia to explore this city and apart from it being a very beautiful city by the sea and with the old quarter, I was overwhelmed by El Mercado Central and also very sorry not to be in an apartment with cooking facilities so that I could buy the lovely fresh produce available... It is nice, clean, renewed, beautiful. But it is really expensive and I think it is only for tourist. It is nice for visit but for grossery shopping I'd prefer just regular supermarket

I've worked on a market before myself and thought I'd seen everything until I visited here, I was blown away but the quality of the stalls and the food, it is a feast for your eyes as well as your belly! The meats and cheeses on the deli's look stunning, the breads and pastries amazing, but the fruit and veg... More

This is not your ordinary fresh produce market. It is very clean and well presented. Worth a visit. In particular have a look at the fish section. Look, rest of the world, it can be clean and fresh!
