Even if you're not taking a train, stop into the Estación del Norte for a few minutes and admire a train station like few you've ever seen before, a depiction of everything good about Valencia.

Whatever you do, if you visit Valencia, DO NOT forget to pay this gem of a station a visit. It is well worth whiling away an hour or so studying the architectural and ornamental details. There's also a room where you can look at the photographic history of the station and read about the architect. One of the most romantic,... More

The decor of the central foyer is superb. Walk into it and you're in the 19th century and will be delighted with it's decorated panels and light fixtures. Since may day trips can be accomplished by using this station, you'll have a great venue to start your journey.

We visited this station as we thought it would have been cheap to hop on the train to Barcelona or Madrid. But that was n't the case. It worked out much cheaper from London. I just wanted to explore some more with the children. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. This station was very large and clean.... More

A visit to the station is a must if you are visiting Valencia. The architecture and ceramics are spectacular but even more it is a very inviting place. There is a number of small shops and cafes and an ideal stop off as part of you itinerary.

Most amazing, beautifully restired Art Nouveau tile work. If i had a station like that I would travel by train all the time. Look for all the little details, "good journey " in a variety of languages on little plaques. All the different symbols and icons of Valencia and the region worked into various decorations. Just go!

This is a short visit, but well worth some extra steps. This building is from an era when it was important to care of the citizens and cost was not the only driving force.

We had the good fortune to know one of the managers of the Station and had a personal tour along with a trip to the roof to see the view of central Valencia. Be sure to note the beautiful details in the ticket hall and the room to the right as you enter. The tile work is really lovely. It... More
