After the tragic floods in 1957 in Valencia the decision was made to re-route the river away from the city, what would have been left was a dry river bed but the old Turia River bed was transformed into a wonderful public green space, opened in 1986. There are kilometres of walking paths, cycle paths, children playgrounds, sports grounds, pretty... More

This is fab, miles of park with lovely shady areas in the old river bed. Hire a bike or walk down to the Science Park and see fantastic new buildings.

I loved walking through here, did it on my way to City of Arts and Sciences. It was so nice to see what they had done with where are river once used to be. They have play parks, ponds and sculptures. It is truly something to see if visiting Valencia.

We cycled through here on the way to the city of arts and science. This is a lovely to walk around. It is at the end of the river with gardens nearby and would be great to sit down and chill in the sunshine.

Valencia solved a problem with flooding by rerouting the river and making the river bed a beautiful garden for families, bikes, couples, etc. This beauty was more than expected and we enjoyed cycling down the length of the garden until the beach. There are so many different places in the park to visit and relax, so many beautiful spots, and... More

A gorgeous and very extensive park with lovely trees and plants, open air gyms, cycle paths and playgrounds. Not of much interest to a day tripper but a massive benefit to residents or people staying longer. This must have transformed the city. One point - I saw no public toilets.

I walked the whole length of the 'river', enjoying the sun, little places on the way,... I think the part starting across Calle de Burriana to Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is more appealling than the upper part, going to Bioparc. When I was there (May '15), there were many sites of 'work in progress' blotting the beauty... More
