Very nice buildings, a pool and some flower shops. If you like to eat something, prefer Plaza Redonda which is 200-300 meters away.

The palatial Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) of Valencia dominates the square, and its bells chime out the hours. Surrounding the plaza are other buildings from the city's golden age, such as the Correos (the main post office). In the center of the plaza, a fountain is surrounded by flower stalls with all the colors, sizes, varieties imagineable. This is a good starting point from which to visit Valencia's old quarter or today's most fashionable shops.

Our hotel overlooked this plaza so we walked it a couple of times each day. The flower stalls provide colour and the plaza is a central meeting point in front of the City Hall so there were a few protest rallies while we were there. The fountain is an attractive feature.

My husband and I visited Valencia during the Fallas festival and the Plaza Ayuntamiento is definitely the center of the Fallas universe. It's a lovely wedge shaped area surrounded by wonderful buildings with lots of character and charm. And there's a very nice fountain on the northern end. You'll be able to buy numerous postcards of it.

I always stay in one of the hotels around the plaza when i visit Valencia. This is where it all started and you can really feel the Valencia vibe here.
