Type: Government Buildings, Landmarks/ Points of Interest, Landmarks
Owner description: The palatial Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) of Valencia dominates the square, and its bells chime out the hours. Surrounding the plaza are other buildings from the city's golden age, such as the Correos (the main post office). In the center of the plaza, a fountain is surrounded by flower stalls with all the colors, sizes, varieties imagineable. This is a good starting point from which to visit Valencia's old quarter or today's most fashionable shops.

Eat, drink, catch a bus or just sit in the plaza and watch the world go by. Christmas tree and nativity scene at the moment alongside an open air ice rink.

Crazy during Las Fallas! There were literally people partying all over this central plaza when I attended Las Fallas 2006. A lot of fireworks and other stuff going off all around you. It is also quite a nice open space to walk around ... center of historical Valencia.

Nothing rwally to do here normally other than sight see, but in winter (2014) there is an ice rink in the middle and tree and nice atmosphere. Skates could be sharper but for only 5e grab a pair of skates and give it a go!

Downtown Valencia is really the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where one can see the imposing City Hall, which one can enter. Part of it is a museum that is free and should be seen. The plaza also has a beautiful and big fountain that is quite impressive. There are many hotel and many restaurants where one can eat. The Post Office... More

The Plaza Ayuntamiento is a open plaza in the heart of Valencia and a great place to take photos of the grand Ayuntamiento itself and to visit the Correo.

Almost opposite the Estacion du Norte this enormous plaza is the heart of the city. From here you can walk to the cathedral, the Lonja, the Rotunda, the central market and a host ancient churches, cafes and restaurants. The bullring is a couple of minutes away, the main shopping drag about five. The main building is the town hall, a... More

We went here looking for the tourist info centre and were pleasantly surprised! On a good weather day take the camera for some great shots of some of Valencia's best buildings from a variety of styles.

a nice central city square; being central, it is less cosy, more showy. you will walk through it on your way to / from North Train Station, which is really worth a visit

If you want to visit Valencia, this is the place where to start. Situated in the center, this square is a must-see for everyone because there you can see great example of valencian architecture like the city hall. Also the fountain in the middle is nice. Quiet during the day, by night it becomes active and full of people. Lots... More

We came here for the tourist office in order to buy tickets for the aquarium. It's a very lovely spot and we had to spend some time here taking photos.
