Nice and well preserved

Lovely streets, lovely monuments, is a city to enjoy walking. We loved the "Lonja de la Seda", the market, the 2 old entrace towers to the old city...

.... and get lost in the side streets, alleyways of the Old City: the best way to enjoy Valencia, away from the masses of tourists visiting the Cathedral and surrounding areas. A great way to find the right tapas bar or square to enjoy the first drink of the evening.

Just wandering with no particular destination in mind, this city´s historic centre is beautiful with it´s architecture, with its tiled balconies, beautiful windows and cobbled streets. Always a place to stop for a coffee, tapas or something to eat.

Just walk through at least once and it's very historic... Enough said. Highly recommended... Go at least once while shopping.

One of the thing Spanish civic authorities have got right is the the level of pedestrianisation in many city centres, and Valencia is another example. With some great attractions, lovely plazas, shops and restaurants you can easily spend a couple of days just wandering - with hardly a car in sight. What bliss.

It's a great place to walk around. The old town is full of shops, restaurants and monuments. The better way to see it all is walking,

Built on the site of a Roman town, the old town is quite large and so has a real mix of developments ranging from the really quite old to the new (why put some 60s style flats there?). It feels really lived in and so has some authentic places to eat and drink outside of the usual tourist traps. There... More

Do not miss out on a trip to the old historic part of Valencia if you are staying in the modern part as it has so much to offer quirky shops - fantastic restaurants and bars and some wonderful little independent shops

I had a joy touring Casco Antiguo. So many antique buildings and market places. The Kuna indians were such a beautiful sight. The people selling in the markets are truly talented. The food is just great. I visited this place twice during my trip and loved it each time.
