Great Old Town

It's a great place to walk around. The old town is full of shops, restaurants and monuments. The better way to see it all is walking,

Built on the site of a Roman town, the old town is quite large and so has a real mix of developments ranging from the really quite old to the new (why put some 60s style flats there?). It feels really lived in and so has some authentic places to eat and drink outside of the usual tourist traps. There... More

Do not miss out on a trip to the old historic part of Valencia if you are staying in the modern part as it has so much to offer quirky shops - fantastic restaurants and bars and some wonderful little independent shops

I had a joy touring Casco Antiguo. So many antique buildings and market places. The Kuna indians were such a beautiful sight. The people selling in the markets are truly talented. The food is just great. I visited this place twice during my trip and loved it each time.

loved being inside the casco antiguo very interesting and a friend of ours who has lived in Valencia all his life was able to explain the history and architecture of each tourist attraction.

Wander around to see the real Valencia, nice old buildings, yes graffiti!, cafes, tourist shops great to wander around going from one point of interest to another but don't expect anything amazing. It's just Valencia as it is and was built, you get a real feel of the city here and very nice just for a wander.

Narrow shaded streets. Busy at times quiet at others. We arrived by tourist bus and wandered through looking at shops, and having a coffee or Coke in the bars

We were there for "Las Fallas" and stayed right by the Ayuntaminto. This was ideal for experiencing "La Mascleta" every day of the festival as well as the processions and burning of the ninots on the final night.

We don´t have many of these back home... so a stroll around streets with hundreds years of history is quite nice!

Find yourself a GPS, kidding, and go into the casco antiguo. The buildings, plazas, museums, churches, restaurants, cafes and yes, even hotel caro, that you will find here are amazing. A must see when in Valencia. Don't miss it.
