stunning from inside and from outside

A masterpiece of architecture, and a stunning place from inside as from outside. Together with the Lonja, the Cathedral are the highlights of old Valencia - and a must see.

The main reason for our visit was to see the Holy Grail which is housed in a side chapel in the Valencia Cathedral. We had attended a free temporary exhibition on the Holy Grail at the L'Almodi', incorporated in that visit was a free pass to the side chapel at the Cathedral, we did not need to visit the cathedral... Unusual find. Very heavy with Moorish influence. Self guided tour very good. Wedged between buildings but easily toured. Must see.

I would have readily made a voluntary contribution to look around the cathedral, youcan see a verysmall area without paying but not enough.

The Cathedral is a beautiful mixture of all main European styles (Roman, Gothic and Baroque). Famous for its acoustic, it is also full of hidden surprises (Goya paintings, Holly Chalice, saints’ relics). It was built in 13th century on the site of the former Visigothic church.

Well worth a visit, chapel contains holy grail. It's lovely to see. Don't forget to walk the 200 steps to the top of the tower, but when you get there is well worth it The steps are steep, and get smaller as you go up, so beware .

For 2euros a visit up the bell tower is a must, especially if you time it for when the bells chime...the views are fantastic.

The cathedral was great, but the highlight is the tower. You get great views of the city, try and go during the hour to hear the church bell ring.

My husband and I rarely buy the audio tours available in churches etc but we decided to do so for this one, it's worth it as it has a fascinating history and is beautiful, the chapel containing "the holy grail" is especially interesting, and also it's worth climbing the tower for the amazing views over Valencia

Went to the top of the tower for the view. It is a bit over 200 steps ( reminds me of the Sacre Cour steps in Paris). Worth the view. I didn't pay to tour the cathedral as once I walked in it seemed similar to other cathedrals I have visited recently. If I hadn't visited so many lately, I... More
