This beach is between the beautiful city of Alicante and the less attractive (to me!) resort of Benidorm. It is a sandy glorious stretch of the Costa Blanca and I love returning here time and again. It has a great promenade with a mixture of modern and more traditional cafes and restaurants. There is a large hotel at one end... More

The San Juan beach in Alicante (or even the whole city) would often miss out on traveler's map owing to other commercially publicized locations as Benidorm etc., but trust me very few beach towns in whole of Spain will come as close to the beauty called 'Alicante'. Put yourself up in a hotel/resort in the San Juan beach area and... More

Absolutely lovely beach. There is an abundance of restaurants to eat at, as well as great sports to play on the beach. When the sun starts to go down, everybody ventures over to some of the bars on the beach, which are superb. I would recommend going.

1. How to go there? From Alicante take Bus 21/22 or Tram (best way by bus) takes about 20min, directly to Playa de San Juan. 2. Beach clean beach surrounded by several shops and restaurants. Water is cleaner than Alicante beach. 3. For 12Euro you can rent two lounger plus an umbrella until 7pm. For sunbathing just for few hours... More

Spendind 2 weeks in apartment 1 block away from beach, great beach, city lifesaving service, beach sports installations, always clean with light color sand and shallow waterfront, great for children. In late August always some waves, but not disturbing. great location overall.

I have visited many beaches in Costa del Sol, Costa Brava and Costa Blanca and it's one of the best. It's very long and wide with fine, light colour sand and some palm trees planted to shed shadow. if you don't have your own beach umbrella. The water has a beautiful turquoise colour and it's shallow so can easily see... More

This was the beach I had always dreamt of - beautiful mountains to the left, calm warm and shallow water, not overcrowded with too many bars and restaurants... just one word PERFECT! Moreover... it's so easily accesible by tram - just 20 mins from the Alicante city centre and it's right there. Since the time I've been back to England... More

We stayed at Hotel Almirante, which is practically on this beach, for our honeymoon and spent most days lounging here. There are play areas, restaurants, toilets, showers, access walkways and 'parasol vendors' situated at regular intervals all along the 5km beach. It is clean, well maintained, and patrolled by lifeguards. The parasols and loungers outside our hotel were priced at... More

Given its central location making it one of the busier beeches its not to bad really. Clean, soft, white sand. When we went,it wasn't rammed,so were able to bag a lounger(12 euro with shade) Life guard presents is good, with one or two beach bars on hand. Biggest problem is getting a parking space!!
