Olite is only about an hour on the bus from Pamplona, and well worth the visit. The palace is beautiful, and the models showing the restoration are extremely detailed and interesting. There are a lot of spiral staircases to climb into the various towers, so a great place to burn off some calories and enjoy the views. The turrets are... More

Now this is what comes to mind when you think of a palace. It is a very impressive building. Well worth a visit. The only shame is that there is nothing inside the rooms. Not decorations, furniture even information about what the room was. There are great views from the towers. If you like castles and palaces etc. you should... More

Impressive castle, no original furniture or paintings left but the visit is worth your while. You can climb up to all the towers and the castle is just beautiful. The small garden on the fisrt floor is very interesting, and their "fridge" too ;D I'd recommend anyone visiting Navarra not to miss Olite.

One of my favorite castles I've visited in Spain. Lots of passage ways, towers, stairways, great views of the surrounding city of Olite. I had a great time climbing to the tops of all the towers and enjoying the view. A great way to spend the afternoon.

We stayed for two days at this parador and very much enjoyed it. There is a nice quiet courtyward outside that you can get a glass of wine and read a book. The food at the restauarnt in the parador was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was very extensive. The entire stay was an unbeatable value. The staff was very... More

Anyone who dreams of medieval castles should drop by this little gem in the lovely city of Olite (also known for its Navarra wines). The castle has a variety of towers as it should, but also a rich history, which the guided tour will show you with detail.

For a castle lover, this is a must see. It's multilevel castle filled with passage ways and stairs and towers which are fun to explore. Although it was in ruins from the Napoleanic War of 1813 until it's restoration in 1939, it is now completely restored to it's original structure. In the Tribute tower, one can see models of the... I had the pleasure of taking a large (24) group of high school students to Pamplona in Mar/Apr '08 as part of an exchange program; one of the places we visited in Navarra was the Palace/Castle of Olite. What a hit!!! The kids had a great time and came away totally pleased with the experience. The day we were there, we... More
