We went to a section of beach in the middle of the mar Menor. We wouldn't go back. Lagoon was absolutely swarming with jelly fish and littered along the shoreline. Also with seaweed and rubbish. Lovely promenade to walk along but no shops/ bars amenities.

We took a trip over to Lo Pagan beach (along with Los Alcazares and Torrevieja) and Lo Pagan won hands down in terms of scenery, water quality and general amenities. I thought it was a stunning beach, lovely golden sands, calm sea and clear water. Certainly the best of the 3 we visited - we were even treated to fly... More

The Mar Menor is shallow, but it is also full of jellyfish. My kids found out the hard way. Stick to netted areas. Lots of nice beaches as other reviewing say, but as others say, it is a bit of a sewer in parts. You'd never find me putting a toe in the water.

With great weather all year and officially one of the healthiest places in the world , the Murcia region of Spain is a gem, Spain at its best, forget the kiss me quick sights of benidorm and the Costa. Del Sol, there is nothing bad I can say about this get away, the Mar Menor is warm all year round... More

We visited the mar menor stip whilst staying at the Mar Menor golf resort and whilst the area overall was lovely the strip itself was very disappointing. We headed out looking to spend some time relaxing on the beaches. We were very disappointed to find the beaches were dirty and the strip itself was a nightmarish strip of high rise... More

The Mar Menor is very pretty to look at, but is no more than an open sewer; step off the dirty sand beaches and put your feet in the tepid water and you'll notice immediately that the consistency has changed and you are now treading on gloopy mud. Yuk! The water quality is very poor, ear infections for those daft... More

Brilliant Place to go to chill either sea side or inwardly..... lots of water sports and everything is sensibly priced. Parking can sometimes be an issue though

Ideal to learn sailing and windsurfing with spectacular views of the La Manga strip with its array of hotels. Not the liveliest of places but relaxing and fun. It's full of expat Brits so language is not a problem but you will pay tourist prices for refreshments. Nothing to light you up or cheese you off. It's generally a nice... More

Been to the Mar Menor many times now, there is so much to see and do for any groups, families, couples or visiting by yourself. It's great north side with the mud baths and flamingos and to see the salt flats and how there work. La manga Strip side is just as fabulous, crazy having the tranquil peaceful Menor then... More
