Understand you can visit via a boat from cartegena harbour but I drove round it's only a few miles, can get a little confusing you have to go through the navel dockyard area, but worth the effort the walk upto the castle and the Feds are wonderful some times you can see the boats going in out the port so... When I went to visit the fort I drove there but I believe it is now accessible as part of the Barco Turisica (Tourist Boat) trip around the harbour and beyond. There is a screened presentation to start. You need to tell the staff which language to play. The rest of the tour is showing yourself around the ramparts and... More

I usually go jogging around this area, beacuse of the low traffic and the views. If you are interested in lighthouses you may like it. Locals go there for fishing and reading in a quiet place. Actually, in a cloudy day it looks a little bit romantic.

Having purchased multiple entry tickets to various places we took advantage of the discount for the boat trip and visit the Christmas Fort.We did this on the morning of our departure caught the 11am sailing on the boat and after 10 minutes or so were dropped off on the Christmas fort for 45mins we were met by a guide who... We were the only two from the tourist boat to visit the fort and were surprised to have the services of a guide to ourselves. She even met us off the boat and took us up to the fort. We saw a video presentation and had a very interesting look round at the well presented artefacts. We then got on the... More

The old fort is not very spectacular by itself and you can see everything there is to see in under an hour. That being said, if you are visiting multiple Puerto de Culturas museums (and you should) you can visit the Fort at a discount. You can stop by as a part of the tourist boat trip around the harbour... More

Best taken alongside the tourist boat as it will take you out there and come pick you up on the way round again. A running commentary of the trip is blasted out over the loud speakers detailing some of the other fort's and gun emplacements on the opposite coastline. There is two boat trips, tourist boat and a catamaran, if... More

Good place and a nice view :-D it was a bit small, however the fort was tactic placed. I learn a lot of Cartagena,s history by visiting the fort.

This is a good place for a stopoff on the tourist boat trip. After your visit you just catch the next boat to continue your boat tour. A look around the exhibits takes about half an hour. There is a gentle climb up to the entrance. Great views of Cartagena from the fort. There is a snacks and refreshments machine.
