It's warm! There are loads of excellent bars and restaurantes around, bird life out towards Las Salinas is just great, with flamingoes, bittern, avocet, stilt, terns shelduck, etc. plus hoopoe and beeaters nearby, plus of course, swifts and martins. Then there are the mud baths if you are inclined. Great place to visit, and if you hire a bike, it... More

The southern end of the Mar Menor area is a fabulous place for holidaying with great swimming for families. In the Mar Menor itself the water is shallow and gets really warm in the summer which is ideal for young children. For the older more experienced swimmers the Mediterranean is not far to go. Cartagena city is close by and... More

This is a great lagoon type area. Beautiful shallow water, very clear, ideal swimming, boating. Looking out over La Manga reminds us of Florida. Great sunsets from La Manga.

I don't know where Kattie went but it can't have been the central La Manga strip which has restaurants open all year round, plenty of winter residents and exciting fiestas in the Plaza Bohemia throughout the year. Alot of the very touristy stuff is closed. It's a stunning area with the Mediterranean on one side and the Mar Menor a... More

The mar menor is a great place for families. Lots of beaches and little bars on the beaches in summer. Quiet out of season though

Mar Menor is known for water sports and outdoor activities. We visited in October and there were hardly any of the activity centres open and the vast majority of the restaurants and shops were closed. My daughter went paddling in the warm waters of the Mar Menor but luckily we spotted the masses of jellyfish before she got stung. Avoid... More

During summertime very busy on La Manga Strip with especially Spanish tourist who live there to survive the summerheat and abandon their cities. more then enough to do along the shores for kids and grown-ups with of course the many goor (fish-)restaurants.

Maybe it is the time of year, but there was a distinct lack of service, slow and un-attentive' Is it because they feel it not necessary because the diners are holidaymakers and not looking for good service ???? This is a shame for us living close-by, however, it is a case of voting "with your feet" !!!!!
