When planning our trip one of the only things I wanted to do was visit the mud lake. The experience was like nothing I've ever done before with cold water but hot mud on the lake bed, a strange experience. The mud itself smelt very bad when taking it out of the water but soon the smell went when you'd... More

I absolutely love this part of Spain. It is peaceful and relaxing, and the Mar Menor is beautiful. The beaches are fantastic, and the sea itself is wonderful.

Great experience and free too. Located at the North End of the Mar Menor just outside San Pedro. Pointers to remember - take a container to scoop the mud out and a sponge to clean it off. Basically you walk into the sea, scoop mud out and go back onto dry land to smother it over you. Then stand in... More

Not for going to look at it in the summer month as it's heaving and not at all my type of a day out. But go in any winter month and it's ghost city and that is when you can enjoy the seven mile drive from top to bottom. The sea on one side of the strip and lagoon on... More

We went over on the ferry at 10am from outside the Alaska bar on the seafront of Los Alcazares €10 return, the trip takes aprox 45 mins , it's good to see the coastline from the mar menor. When you arrive at La Manga walk alongside the yachts that are moored up until you reach the main road, if you... More

Dirty water and beaches, very smelly, far too many people, came out of the lagoon feeling desperate for a shower. I really don't understand the reviews and hype, definitely one to miss and all future beach visits will be to the Med section of coast.

Spent a few hours here today, and was disgusting with the sea (or lake) Filthy, and very off putting. Sand full of cigarette ends, and not good for the kids. Very busy today. Plus point was it only cost 6 euro to hire a parasol and 2 sunbeds. We left after just an hour and a half, and are heading... More

The Mar Menor is a beautiful part of Spain and well worth a visit. Something for the whole family to do, water park Murcia, Roman theatre Cartagena, mud baths at Lo Pagan and endless water sports, tapas and cafe bars. We stayed on the Mar Menor Golf Resort which is ideally located for touring the area.

Miles and miles of unspoiled beaches bordering a very warm seawater lagoon. there are cafes and bars along the promenade which stretches from Lo Pagan in the north, where you can enjoy the benefits of the world famous mud baths to La Manga in the south. Los Narejos beach is my favourite part because the water is deep enough to... More

My year isn't complete without a visit to the Mar Menor what a fabulous part of Spain unspoilt by tourism a true taste of Spanish life. Walk along the sea front at night with the Spanish and their families sit relaxing with tapas and a coffee, you cannot beat it. I stayed in a house in Santiago Dela Ribera and... More
