Spent a few hours here today, and was disgusting with the sea (or lake) Filthy, and very off putting. Sand full of cigarette ends, and not good for the kids. Very busy today. Plus point was it only cost 6 euro to hire a parasol and 2 sunbeds. We left after just an hour and a half, and are heading... More

The Mar Menor is a beautiful part of Spain and well worth a visit. Something for the whole family to do, water park Murcia, Roman theatre Cartagena, mud baths at Lo Pagan and endless water sports, tapas and cafe bars. We stayed on the Mar Menor Golf Resort which is ideally located for touring the area.

Miles and miles of unspoiled beaches bordering a very warm seawater lagoon. there are cafes and bars along the promenade which stretches from Lo Pagan in the north, where you can enjoy the benefits of the world famous mud baths to La Manga in the south. Los Narejos beach is my favourite part because the water is deep enough to... More

My year isn't complete without a visit to the Mar Menor what a fabulous part of Spain unspoilt by tourism a true taste of Spanish life. Walk along the sea front at night with the Spanish and their families sit relaxing with tapas and a coffee, you cannot beat it. I stayed in a house in Santiago Dela Ribera and... More

Mar Menor is a salty lagoon located in the Murcian coast. The water is calm and warm, so it is possible to swimm almost the whole year if it is sunny. It is a place to go and see, but for me the water is too hot and you can harly dive in. It is perfect for pensioners and children.

A wonderful area which I have been visiting for 10 years - Mar Menor (little sea). There are numerous resorts along the shoreline - Los Alcazares being the largest. All resorts have blue flag sandy beaches and wonderful clean promenades (Los Alcazares promenade is 5 Km long). The water is calm and very safe bathing for youngsters. The sea fronts... More

Mar Menor is a special place to visit. It is surrounded by many nice, small villages, and towards the Mediterranian you find the long, slim peninsula La Manga. It is a perfect place for sailing, bathing and playing. It's beaches are easily accessable for most people, and suitable for families with children. You will find a diversity of bars and... More

We've been coming to Lo Pagan regularly over the past 6 years for an afternoon out. We love the warm waters, the lovely beach, seeing the mud people, the extremely long promenade which makes up one side of the Mar Menor. and less than 1 mile away you find the salt flats full of flamingoes and other wading birds like... I own a house that looks over the mar Menor, every day I walk out the door there it is, unlike the mediiteranian sea with an horizon, the mar Menor being a inland sea, you can see the opposite shore with fantastic sunsets

It's warm! There are loads of excellent bars and restaurantes around, bird life out towards Las Salinas is just great, with flamingoes, bittern, avocet, stilt, terns shelduck, etc. plus hoopoe and beeaters nearby, plus of course, swifts and martins. Then there are the mud baths if you are inclined. Great place to visit, and if you hire a bike, it... More
