Don't expect much when going to Cibeles, it's a fountain at the end of the day. Much nicer to look at at Night.

This would have to be a real contender to be the symbol of Madrid. The palacio de cibeles is a beautiful work of art as is the fountain itself. Look in any direction of this plaza and as far as the eye can see and you will get nothing but breathtaking vistas of this incredible city.

As other reviews said, this is located in a roundabout so is not really public accessible. But nevertheless it's nice from the distance. If you go to Museo del Prado you can see it from there. Please be careful, I wouldn't recommend for you to walk to it.

Many of reviews are rather about square as whole. It is nice fountain, but nothing more as such. Other thing is, the fountain as a organic part of Cibeles Square architectural composition. Neither square without fountain nor opposite would be as impressive. The place is iconic but should be subject of another review

The fountain is very impressive but you're taking your life in your hands trying to get close!! We didn't even attempt it- bought a post card instead!! But definitely worth walking past.

Fountain is located in roundabout across from Prado Museum. Iconic and beautiful and definitely worth visiting and taking some photos. Traffic is bad and I had no idea how to cross the multiple lanes of non stop traffic to get to the front. However the best photos are from far away anyways. I cooled off at Starbucks and then crossed... More

I think the Cybele's fountain has increased its worldwide reputation not to be a work of art of precious beauty, but rather to be the exact place where thousands of Real Madrid soccer fans gather to celebrate the victories of the prestigious football team. It's right here in the middle of the square in front of this gigantic fountain eponymous... More

Ventura Rodriguez was the architect who designed the Fountain of Cybeles and this is one of the most beautiful fountains in Madrid. The dramatic design shows the Roman goddess Cybele on top of a chariot drawn by a pair of lions. The plaza where the fountain sits is where the Real Madrid Futbol Team goes to celebrate their victories.

At night the palace just twinkles ! Still worth viewing during the day. Fountain and surrounds make the area a lovely area to wander.

Beautifully sculpted fountain. Good photo option. But be very careful of the busy road around it. What I would like if one could go closer to it. I think the combo of the fountain in front of the Palacio de Cibeles makes it more impressive.
