Ventura Rodriguez was the architect who designed the Fountain of Cybeles and this is one of the most beautiful fountains in Madrid. The dramatic design shows the Roman goddess Cybele on top of a chariot drawn by a pair of lions. The plaza where the fountain sits is where the Real Madrid Futbol Team goes to celebrate their victories.

At night the palace just twinkles ! Still worth viewing during the day. Fountain and surrounds make the area a lovely area to wander.

Beautifully sculpted fountain. Good photo option. But be very careful of the busy road around it. What I would like if one could go closer to it. I think the combo of the fountain in front of the Palacio de Cibeles makes it more impressive.

This is certainly an attractive fountain but there is just way too much traffic to enjoy it properly. Taking pics isn't easy either across 5 lanes of traffic. Worth a visit, but condition your expectations.

The fountain tells a number of stories which I shall not describe here. Nevertheless, it is a must to come here because of its stories!

Madrid has several fountains. This one was close to our hotel. The kids loved watching it at night. Great place to take memorable photos.

In my opinion it is best to arrive here by foot and then you can see the fountain from various angles and get a nice photo. It is in an extremely busy area with constant traffic but you will see the fountain and statue quite well. She is an impressive sight - representing the goddess of nature and abundance, riding... We went here after visiting the palace (cibeles) which is opposite. You can get great ariel views of the monument from there but there are some good opportunities on ground level too (if you can dodge the traffic!)

The fountain, regarded as a symbol of Madrid, is found in Plaza de Cybeles, surrounded by magnificent buildings. This is where Paseo de Recoletos and Paseo del Prado meet, in Bourbon Madrid. A spectacular sight at night when both the fountain and surrounding buildings are lit up.

The marble statue with the fountain dates to the eighteenth century. It's of the goddess Cybeles riding in a chariot drawn by two lions. In her hands she holds a scepter and keys to the city. The fountain/statue is in the center of a busy traffic circle. It's worth taking a look at.
