My family and I had a nice time at the Madrid zoo. The staff was friendly, the area were the animals live is clean and the shows are entertaining. I recommend a visit to the Zoo to anyone with small children. They will have a great time.

We are big fans of the San Diego Zoo and our first stop in San Diego is the Giant Panda and Red Panda exhibits. The Madrid Zoo's Red Panda and Giant Panda exhibits are better than the San Diego Zoo. The Red Panda enclosure allows you to see him in the trees, on the ground walking to his food hut,... More

Dear visitor: We are glad that your visit from Chicago has been nice and you have had the opportunity to meet our family of giant pandas and her baby Xing Bao. It was great that you have also been able to watch closely to the red pandas couple who have recently become parents. Giant otters are an amazing species we... More

My son and I thought this zoo was great! There were many different types of animals living in quite natural looking settings and most exhibits had quite a few of each animal (not just one or two as we have seen in many other zoos). There was also quite a large aquarium and a very large building with snakes, spiders,... More

Dear Beth, Thanks for sharing your experience. In Mysterious Nature, where the favorite animals of your child are, a wide variety of reptiles can be found and during the weekends we also offer the possibility to interact with them in small groups, if you have occasion to visit us again, we recommend it. The Aquarium is one of the indoor... More

Really good zoo. We got to see lots of animals and they were far more active than in other zoos I've visited. As others have noted: - a distinct lack of keepers and we saw people throwing inappropriate food to the animals it seems no one cares and no one polices the policies. - cafés a bit hit and miss... Dear Tim, thank you for your comments from United Kingdom. The welfare of our animals is the most important for us, therefore, along the whole tour there are basic rules of behavior properly indicated, which the visitors should take into consideration such as to avoid feeding the animals and respect their facilities. However, we appeal to the education and cooperation... More

Pandas Pandas Pandas Need I say more? The zoo is easily accessible from the Metro or bus. It's a 15 minute walk from the Metro. Lions, Tigers & Bears, oh my! And pandas, monkeys, dolphins, elephants and more! There were so many baby animals that I was on cuteness overload. The habitats were shaded, nice sized and designed so you... More

Thanks for sharing with us your experience from San Francisco in a very special time for Zoo Aquarium of Madrid in which we have welcomed several breedings of different species (gorillas, dolphins, giraffes, asian elephant, hippos, red panda ... ), including the giant panda Xing Bao. The gastronomic offer throughout the park is wide and varied with a main coffee... More

My boyfriend and I are in our 20's and thoroughly enjoyed this zoo! We have started trying to visit a zoo in each city we visit, so when we arrived in Madrid and realised there was one super close to where we were staying, we had to go! Take full advantage of Madrid's great metro system if you're visiting as... More

Dear visitor, Thanks for sharing your experience with us from UK. Public transport is a great treat to get to Madrid Zoo Aquarium, both metro line 10, which stops only 900 meters away from the park or 33 bus line, which stops at the main gate of the park. The park is 22 acres and more than 6,000 animals of... More

Yes we have seen better zoos but the Madrid zoo is still worth a day out...especially the Panda exhibit! They have a good collection of animals. A tip: try not to eat here as the prices are over the top and range of food is quite limited.

Dear Ian, Thanks for visiting us from Coffs Harbour, Australia. We would like to Inform you that panda's family has recently increased. If you had no chance to see our breeding panda, Xing Bao, born in August 2013, you will be able to do it on your next trip. In that case, we recommend to purchase online in advance to... More

We loved every second of being here! It is the kind of place you can spend the whole day and still feellike you havent seen everything, its brilliantly mapped out and have different continents to visit which makes it a good learning point aswell!! Only downside was there were no monkies when there should have been :(

Dear Jade, Thank you for visiting us from Gloucestershire, UK, last June. With respect to the monkies, perhaps you did not see them because they were in the new winter facility that we've recently opened next to the meadow with public access. Depending on the weather and temperature, they choose one place or another. We hope that if you visit... More
