I joined the pub crawl where Sara was the guide. And in 15 minutes the number grew to 40+ people. Sara was an awesome guide and knows about all the good bars and pubs, which would be hard to find if you are not local. Totally recommended either you are travelling alone or in group. P.S. Definitely the best tour organization in Madrid! They host walking tours in both English and Spanish, they have Tapas&Flamenco tours and last but not least, the best Pubcrawl in town! Many thanks to all the tour guides, like Silvia, Stephán, Mary, Hector and all the others!!

The tour was great led by Sylvia. She was really lovely and full of a lot of information. Because this company is new a lot less people turns up to the tour which made for a more intimate in detail tour. We learnt a lot about Madrid, local life and amazing places to eat and drink. Sylvia was informative and... More

Stéphane was a great guide who pointed out places to check out when we got a chance as well as giving us some really cool insights into the sites he was showing us. Really enjoyed this tour and time past very fast. This is a very good way to meet people all around the world, especially if you travel alone. Moreover, there were a lot of good recommendations from Mary, who was a very lovely girl. Greetings!:)

Mary was the greatest tour guide we've ever had. Knowledgeable, funny and always tried to include everyone from the tour. We were amazed at how much of Madrid we were able to cover and learn about

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
