Amazing!

Had a great tour with Anastasia. Took about 3 hours but there were so many sights. Great if you want some fun and historical facts about Madrid. Highly recommended.

Anastasia did a great job of bringing the city of Madrid and it's history to life! A very lively and genuine character, she took us on a 3 hour journey that felt far less as she infused the day with good mix of anecdotes, energy, and pleasant pacing. She also gave the group all the top tips on where to... More

It was a nice and easy way to explore Madrid together with others and with Anastasia, who had a pleasant way to guide us through some historic, cultural and other facts of the town. So well done for that, it was quite entertaining and informative. Perhaps I would have appreciated, not being every single minute referred to as "guys".... ;-)... More

Chances upon the leaflet which stated there was a free tour so I joined it! Best decision! The tour was about 3hs long but it wasn't tiring at all because we were brought to all the important places and stopped for explanation. Our guide was Anastasia and she was brilliant and fluent in English as well! We ended it off... More

When I visited Midrid, I had a very amazing "free walking tour" with Silvia. Silvia is a very open-minded and lovely girl, she is always in a good homour. So she takes every memeber of the group with simplicity. We saw all the important places in Madrid with explanations about the history and some special stories for example Plaza Mayor,... More

I normally never leave reviews but this was exceptional. I had the best time with our guide Silvia. We were a group of 50 and the amount of enthusiasm, energy and friendliness she gave us was outstanding. The prices (€15 for entry to 2 bars, 2 clubs and an unlimited amount of beer/sangria at bar 1 as well as shots... More

Awesome free walking tour with a very nice guide (Stéphane Vautour) Definitely recommend these tours and the pub crawls are so nice. I loved the night! We ate tapas and I saw a flamenco show, in a pub with a very intimist environment. Great experience! 5*

Definitely one of the best free city tours I've been on. Anastasia was friendly, energetic and had a great sense of humour. Highly recommended!

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
