I was in Madrid for three days. Day one we walked. Day two we took the underground. Day three we took this. We took both the routes and it showed us Madrid in a way that was not possible any other way. Put the headphones on and take the full two routes. Then decide where you want to halt and... More

A bit confusing, regarding the 2 routes, as they have different bus stops, not like the one in Barcelona. Sign for Bus stop not clear, u have to really look for it. Otherwise helpful stuff and good free wifi service, unlike the Barcelona one who claimed to have Wi-fi but didn't work.

21 euros for a tour listening to headphones which spoke of buildings and places you couldnt see because the large bus can only travel on the main roads.

Dear Client, We are really sorry our service didn't live up to your expectations. We would like to emphasize that Madrid is a city with very few pedestrian zones such as Plaza Mayor which makes it possible for our buses to run through the main streets providing beautiful views of the monuments and buildings existing along the road. Kind regards More

As a matter of fact we are stranded at a stop because they haven't stopped by for over an hour. This was after The lady snapped at us very rudely and asked us if we knew how to speak Spanish after we hesitated to walk on to the bus. We are still waiting. Save your money and go with another... Dear Customer: We regret whether your experience at our service has not been as successful as we wished. In addition, we would also like to apologize whether the staff that did not meet its obligations properly.... More

We bought the two day access tickets (only €4 more than the one day ticket). As in other cities, you can hop on and off to suit yourself and it takes you to lots of the main attractions. There are two routes to take and we found our Route 1 trip was one of just a few extended tours, taking... More

Although the tour showed you the main attractions it was quite expensive for a few hours. €21 for the day. I have been on other city tours and got additional things eg free bus for the duration of the ticket but nothing else was included. Madrid itself is beautiful during the day at night I found it abit intimidating. Tip:... More

- Very important: to plan your day check at a bus station (not the website!) if there is maybe an announcement saying that there is (strongly!) limited service because of a demonstration or a soccer match or both (like in our case) or whatever - Yes, the automatic audio commentary is absolutely boring, just naming the buildings, but we liked... Took the tour. The double deck bus uses an automated commentary with numerous languages available. They provide ear buds, however, I found it difficult to understand. Not enough volume at times or degraded sound quality. Like many businesses, a member of management should ride occasionally and test things out. Try to sit up front if possible.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
