We booked with viator for our tours Barcelona (4 trips) 1. Montserrat- amazing! But suggest to do on your own as the time with guide is limited with 1/2 day trip. Great trekking paths which we didn't have time to explore. The group was large & most were Spanish so waiting for their explanations & questions meant we waiting for... More

My husband and I booked a day tour with Viator from Madrid and it was good they picked us close to our hotel. However our guide 'Clara' gave was just scripting and nothing else, which didn’t provide much info at all. Asked her about some sights and response were of very limited words with practically no explanation or description at... More

We booked a full day tour because we had limited time in Madrid and I really wanted to see Valley of the Fallen and Toledo.. and we only had one day to do it. It's a bit pricey for 100 euros. Don't get the lunch. It's not particularly yummy but it's conveniently located as you don't have much time between... More

We arrived at Julia Office and were instructed by a very abrupt non communicative guide to follow her - no introduction, welcome, knowledge of where we were heading! Like sheep we trundled along the path, down some stairs to awaiting buses - we all very diligently boarded. Off we drove out of the underground tunnel and alas - she spoke!... More

Waste of time and money. We had the worst tour guide that explains a full length in Spanish and just 1 or 2 sentences in English. She let us walk and walk without even telling us where and why we are walking so much. Worst is during lunch ( never buy any esp.the gastronomic lunch) because it's a complete rip... More

Julia Tours one of the best tours that provides bilingual tourist guides and the bus trip from Madrid down south (Valencia, Sevilla, Granada) fabulous with excellent descriptions of the places. Hotels organised for us while we were in those destinations very good first class!

we had been on really good tours in Barcelona and found Julia travel very disappointing. it felt like they were either sticking to a script, or were so disinterested in answering questions or being helpful. we went on the Madrid highlight tour and Toledo tour. I recommend that you try another tour operator.

I went on the Toledo half day tour and was highly disappointed with it's quality. The tour was in Spanish and English which wouldn't have been a problem if 1. I could hear the guide when he spoke English, 2. The guide waited for the whole group to gather before providing information and 3. All the information was provided in... More

I bought the three tours via Expedia because I thought the price was good and I am really glad I bought them. Their offices are clean, spacious, and they are very organized. FYI it is important that you take a your PRINTED receipts with you if you don't want to have any problems. My tour guide for the Ávila and... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
