Not as advertised! We booked this 1.5 hour tour through Go Get Your Guide. Our tour guide was Isabel. We booked the tour to be in English. However, the tour was given in English and Spanish. This slowed things down quite a bit and we probably could have seen a few more rooms of art had the guide not spent... More

Booked Toledo Whole Day tour with Julia Travel. Toledo was beautiful but the tour was disappointing. Services- if you bought your ticket on line, you need to go to the office minutes before the tour start to get your voucher. No lines inside the office where there are also dozens of tourists waiting to get their vouchers. The lady will... More

Did not like being inside a tour bus. I got this tour with my girlfriends. I think we would have enjoyed the hop on hop off bus better because the weather was nice and you couldn't take pictures from the bus. Not very well organized. I only give it a 3 instead of a 2 because we were allowed to... More

We booked the Avila & Segovia tour through our hotel and really did not know what to expect after reading some mixed reviews. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. at their offices in Plaza de Espana 7. The office is a bit small and a bit unorganized, however, the folks there are very friendly. We stood in line for about 5... More

We had a half day tour with Julia travel which unlike our experiences in Barcelona was really below average fro the get go. Firstly the office is cramped and little communication, you can easily miss being , called,as there is more focus on Spanish than English, the latter is a continuing theme. We opted for the 'English' tour note the... More

Tour guide was good and spoke in three languages (Spanish, English and Italian) for the very large group. This made it difficult to keep up especially in smaller spaces and made much of the time wasted. Also no headphones unlike some of the better tours I have had (and saw in Toledo) so it was hard listening to her. Had... More

We booked a day tour of Madrid that included a guided tour of the Prado in the afternoon after lunch. The tour was supposed to be in English with a two hour lunch break in the middle of the day. Despite being checked in on time, we were told to get on an already very full bus twenty minutes after... More

Dear client, Thank you for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor. Please accept my most sincere apologies if our Madrid sightseeing tour including the Prado museum did not follow the itinerary as you expected. This tour is always bilingual in English and Spanish. Also, lunch is not included. The tour starts at 09.00 am with a Madrid sightseeing which is 3... More

I took the full day tour to Avila and Segovia last month and loved it! The check in process was a bit chaotic -- their office is a bit small, but get there early and you shouldn't have any problems. There is also a small cafe next door if you want to get a coffee before heading out of town.... More

I went to 3 tours: half day Toledo, half day Aranjuez, and full day Segovia and Avila. The guides were multilingual and seemed very knowledgeable, but had little patience to answer. I can't blame, since everything was in such a rush! Everybody had to follow the guide through some boring places, especially a lot of Catholic places (Avila was the... More

We came here twice for trips and though it was busy which is to be expected it was difficult to know which trip was moving to the bus first as the tour guides were screaming out in Spanish.

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
