I give 3 stars only becasue the the guide is friendly and the cities are pretty. 不推荐!

My wife and I recently visited Madrid are were seeking to get out of the big city and see the regional city's close to Madrid. We had a full day tour to Toledo which must be one of the most magnificent ancient city's we have visited followed by a further day tour of Avila and Segovia, with Segovia and its... More

Despite arriving at the tour office, as advised for 8.30am for a 8.45 start, the tour to EL ESCORIAL AND VALLEY OF THE FALLEN departed late. After much confusion about which bus was going where, we were eventually taken across the road by our guide after she shouted the name of the tour and darted across the busy road to... More

The half-day bus tour was disappointing and I suspect the hop-on hop-off is better value for money if you have the time. There were too long silences by an uninterested guide on the bus trip around the city which we supplemented by following the route in our guide book. However, the jump-the-queue one-hour tour of the Prado by Matilde was... More

I had a day trip to Avila and Segovia from Madrid. I was really doubting about giving 2 stars instead of 3. Our guide was a nice lady. But the group was too big compared to the price we paid. We joined a lot of groups like this all over Europe, For the same price, this was the worst i... More

I just finished a four day trip from Madrid through Cordoba, Seville and Granada. Each day showed us the magical sights of the region. There was a good mix of guided tour and free time. The hotels included were superb. the breakfast and dinner was great. Our guide Hugo did a fantastic job on the bilingual trip. I can't stop... More

Professional and informative from start to finish. I enjoyed tour guide Clara's educational supervision of the excursion to Toledo from Madrid. She imparts volumes of information about the town and the buildings in both English and Spanish. It was a very good way to see some of Toledo in an organised manner and good value for money. The Cathedral was... More

This agency probably has volume since they do have frequent tours to say trips. Their combined tours (Avilla and Segovia ; El Escorial and Valle de Los caidos) are very convenient since they are effective and it would be hard to do it by yourself. Some tour guides are better than others (which happens...). The buses are good enough. their... More

In advance of our recent visit to Spain, we booked a day trip from Madrid to Avila and Segovia. The local tour operator was Julia Travel, and we would gladly use them for other day trips when we visit Madrid again. Centrally located at the Plaza de Espana, Julia Travel was easy to get to as the jumping off point... More

While in Madrid, I went on the day trip to Avila and Segovia provided by Julia Tours. Avila was an hour and a half via the bus, another hour to Segovia, and then approximately an hour and a half back to Madrid. In total, the tour was about 9 hours. If you're okay with walking quite a bit, and want... More

My 26 year old daughter and I had a wonderful time on a tour with Geze and 2 other couples. It was the most time- and cost-effective way to see all the major sights of the city. Geze was knowledgeable on historical and current events. The ride was of average difficulty and very safe. We would recommend this to anyone... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
