This was a great experience. It was such fun and even though you occasionally felt a little vulnerable in the car it was all part of the fun. The car sticks out as its yellow and... read more

Absolutely brilliant!! I can't understand why this doesn't feature higher in things to do. We were the only booking they had last Saturday, yet everywhere we went, people were stopping to ask us how we hired them. The GPS was so clever, talking to you through your tour and picking up where you were or telling you if you'd gone... More

We booked this tour before we arrived in Spain for our trip. On the Viator website, it looked like a lot of fun when we were looking for activities to do in Madrid. The place was easy to find; although, it looked a little dodgy when we saw the garage, but the GoCar was ready for us. Unfortunately, the guy... More

We found this tour online and it looked like it would be a lot of fun despite the previous reviews that we read. Upon arriving at the location which took a while to find as it was hidden away down an ally inside a garage with no signs (the GoCar parked outside gave it away) we were pleasantly surprised with... Car arrived late and in a poor state, scratched, bumped and taped together. The satnav tour lasted approx 100m before going wrong sending us round in circles.Although we had fun it was because Madrid is a great city with tolerant road users and the sun was shining.Would not recommend this tour as the cars are poorly maintained and staff unprofessional/late/unorganised.

We rented a GoCar for the afternoon. 1st we got a GoCar that had a fauly start engine and wouldn't start. Can happen. Then we got a 2nd at which the GPS didn't work. Can happen... The 3rd we got was the one with the faulty start engine, what we noticed after a short break in the middle of town.... More

The people were very nice and the "car" was ready as advertised. The controls were motorcycle type - meaning the throttle was on the right hand grip and the brakes were hand levers. You sat on the floor with your legs straight out. If you were not comfortable with driving a motorcycle or motorbike ( as we were not )... More

This was a great experience. It was such fun and even though you occasionally felt a little vulnerable in the car it was all part of the fun. The car sticks out as its yellow and I believe that the spanish drivers in the centre of town are used to seeing the cars on the road. We look back on... More

Me and my girlfriend did the GoCars Tour on Valentine’s day and had no idea what to expect. We got there on time (easy to find), signed the papers got handed the helmets after a quick overview of the car and we were away! At first we were struggling as the car is fairly loud and the satnav woman was... More

I did this in San Francisco years ago and had a blast. I jumped at the chance to do it in Madrid. They are located near the Plaza Espana, answer their phones (you'd be surprised at how many tourist attractions don't answer phones and e-mails), speak English, and are quite courteous. 35 Euros for the 1st hour which they say... After spotting a go car in front of the palace, my sister and i set out on a hunt to find these cool little cars. We were excited they were only 35€ so we were all in! After getting lost and only actually completely about half of the tour (the gps told us we were completely off the tour and... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
