After reading previous reviews I chose this wine tour for our Haro visit. It was a lovely surprise to receive a glass at the end to take home but was a bit surprise when purchasing a bottle of wine that we were charged extra for small amounts of extra tasting, (you receive two samples as part of the tour). The... More

The closest you will get to a Napa winery tour. Very large groups, and through the whole tour we were told how great their special blends are only to be given a very basic white and red for our tasting. If you wanted to taste the special wines you paid extra. We did get to keep our glasses and they... More

Dear ajbike, thank you so much, not only for coming to visit us, but for letting us know your opinion. We are so sorry to know that you found our winery impersonal and to know we were not able to transmit as we try to, our philosophy and passion about wine and about our traditions. We try to close our... More

We took a winery tour/tasting here on a weekday morning. Our group has about twelve people & took about an hour & a half. Muga is one of the larger wineries in the region and runs a top-notch tour. Every step of the wine making process is covered, even the barrel making in the coopery. Questions from our group were... More

This is the type of visits that it can bring you to the essence of quality regarding their product and its presentation. Me and my firends organized a trip to the vinyard region of La Rioja and we marked this visit as a priority. It didn´t disappoint us because we discover many more things about this excellent brand. The only... More

I am something a fraud reviewing Bodegas Muga because the trip was so full we actually couldn't get in, so this is by way of warning: you need to book early. We love Muga wines so much however we went into their tasting area even though we couldn't go round the winery. The wines were absolutely delicious. Not one single... More

Interesting larger winery - more on a commercial scale, but still worth a visit. Still using old traditions and cooperage at the winery.

Took a guided tour of this winery and can't rate it high enough. What a wonderful experience, our tour guide was so knowledgeable and personable, she made our visit a memorable one. We learned everything about their facility, including barrel making. Wine tasting (and shopping) rounded out the experience. We left very happy, thank you Muga!

We only had one full day in Haro so very pleased we were able to join the 10 am English tour at short notice. Muga is very much a family business who have kept traditional methods, using only natural products such as oak, cork, even fresh egg white (you will have to take the tour to find out why...). Our... The lady in the tasting venue at Muga was very welcomming and informative. Wr enjoyed a tswting of their range starting with a lovely fresh Cava. The Reds were outstanding and these were some of the best wines we enjoyed in the Rioja. Muga is positioned as you enter the area where all the Bodegas are situtaed. If you have... More
