Historic tranquil location just off Main Street we seem to be drawn to this area. Friendly locals always ready to share their knowledge.

Tucked away, it's a place you could almost miss, but don't. Read the epitaphs and realize what our lads have been through there

Just at the end of Main Street, beside the old city gate on the left is the small Trafalgar Cemetery where seamen from the famous battle are buried. I'm a frequent visitor to Gibraltar, and often pop in to have a look around, this brings a very famous historical event into focus. Years of neglect have resulted in the corrosion... More

Another example of GIB's rich history - easy to find & can be checked out en route to the cable car. Plenty to learn about on the information boards & surprisingly small when you think of most cemeteries. Well maintained & when we visited a man had the thankless task of sweeping up the leaves! We were not menaced by... More

Only a small place, just popped in as we were heading to the cable car. Worth a quick peek just to see all the old headstones, really brings the place home.

Not a large area, but a compact well laid out garden cemetery at the top end of Main Street. A nice retreat from the noise and bustle of the latter. When we came 2 years ago, there were some macaques there, but apparently most (of the troublesome ones) have now been removed and consequently we didn't see any there. Probably... More

A thought full place to reflect on past history. All grave stone tended well and in good order even though some headstone hard to read. History for those who can immerse themselves in the past events of the battle of Trafalgar. An environment that commands respect.

Some kind soul has listed carefully all the names and locations. It does make sober reading of course, but this is not a ghoulish place, it is well tended, full of history buffs reading quietly the graves of those who died of wound , not in the battle of trafalgar in 1805. Not far is the cable cars.

Walking around and reading some of the grave it makes you think what they must have gone through. The cemetery itself is on a busy corner road junction just outside what must have been the city walls. A nice place to pay your respect, being it is over two hundred years old some of the stones are very difficult to... More
