I quite like to visit historical cemeteries and this one is worth the effort. A lot of the stones are unreadable but you can still get a picture of what was going on. we were only here for less than thirty minutes, thoroughly enjoyed it though.

A gem that is so easily missed in this busy part of Gibraltar. The poignant stories of some of those interred here are amazing. This is true history from an age when the Brits were made of sterner stuff! Unfortunately, the cemetery does appear a little run down, but don't let that put you off touching this pure history.

Not far away from the cable car station and the Alameda Gardens, just outside the old city walls. A nice place to rest in the heat and lots of fascinating history on the gravestones, very poignant. Some building/repair work going on when we visited, which distracted a little. Worth visiting especially if you're a history enthusiast.

We stumbled upon this place. It's an interesting look around. I wouldn't make if your reason for going to Gibraltar, but it is a snapshot of a piece of time. Check it out if you have time or are walking south anyway.

Situated right at the top of Main street you probably wouldn't find it unless you had a map or a recommendation to visit, but it is only 5 minutes from all the hussle and bustle and so very interesting. We first visited many years ago when you could still read many of the inscriptions but sadly a number of years... More

Very interesting reading the old tombstones . Its situated at the end of the main street and has been done up in recent years ,don't miss this if your in Gib half an hour walk round is really interesting although some of the tombstones are very faded and take some reading.

A lovely place to wander but easily missed as it is very tiny and on a busy corner. The gravestones tell so much of the navel history surrounding Gibralter as well as the health of the population before and after the famous battle.

We popped in here quickly on route to the cable car to take us to the top of the rock. Very moving. There are amongst others men who are buried here who died from wounds inflicted during the famous naval battle of Trafalgar. Those who were killed during the battle were buried at sea. Those who were injured were brought... More

Located just outside the City Wall, this is a well kept, shady cemetery which contains the graves of some of the sailors who were wounded at the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar and who subsequently died of their wounds at Gibraltar.
