A small cemetery tucked away at the end of Main Street. Lovely and quiet to wonder round. The graves are quite old within the cemetery. You can stay as long as you wish to either wonder round the cemetery or sit and contemplate for a few minutes

This small triangular cemetery in a quiet corner of Gibraltar is home to the graves of the seamen who, having survived Trafalgar, later died of their injuries. If you died in the battle you were buried at sea (except Nelson of course). If you like wandering round cemeteries this is definitely one for you, it is full of history. Certainly... More

Well worth the walk to the very end of Main Street this cemetery is very quiet and tranquil. Reading the gravestones really makes you think of the sacrifices made at Trafalgar and other battles/sieges in and around Gibraltar. There is an incredible history of conflict in this area and this is a lovely peacfull place to take your time to... More

This is a nice place to stroll around and to read the epitaph's on some of the headstones and to escape to the shade. Unfortunately a lot of the stones are unreadable, but the ones that are evokes images of what these men endured at Trafalgar.

I've always said that I hate war. Gibraltar is a magnificent, beautiful and and historic place to visit. Their history and identity means a great deal to them, and Britain would not have become the super-power it had been in previous centuries without the fortress of Gibraltar and its people. Although I hate conflicts, I admire the bravery and determination... More

This will take no more than a few minutes to visit, but the story it tells is quite fascinating. Historically, Britannia would have struggled to 'rule the waves' without Gibraltar and its strategic importance.

Tucked away down a side street overlooking the airport runway/taxiways lies this interesting if small cemetary. Well worth routing it out and having a quiet moment of reflection amongst the headstones.

It's an interesting cemetery, the only thing that was a shame was that the writing on the gravestones has started fading. It would be good if these were refurbished.

This cemetery is located at the gates to the city at the opposite end from the customs area. We jumped the bus at the border crossing and travelled to the end of the route. Got off and started a wander to see what was what - actually trying to find the cable car station. Stumbled on the cemetery which is... More

Seeing so many sailors headstones from the Battle of Trafalgar, along with others of that era brings that part of history home. It is a small area that is very well maintained and again has lots of informative descriptions around. Often 'home' to the monkeys in the evening though!!
