Main street is looking a bit 'tacky' these days and apart from cheap booze and cigars there aren't many bargains to be had in the shops. Wander a little off the main drag however and you'll find some interesting little back streets, steeped in history and well worth the diversion.

Last time I visited Gibralter the main street was pretty sad. What a difference now- bright and cheery, English shops for the teenagers to buy clothes, and great duty free prices. Nice atmosphere and thoroughly recommended for a day trip if staying in Southern Spain

This is where one goes to wander down the cobblestone street to find plenty of shops and to do a bit of duty free shopping. Jewellers, clothes, cameras, habberdashery, or whatever can be found down this main street of Gibraltar.

having spent 18 Months stationed in Gibralta,I think that I have a reasonable knowlege of the "Rock" First launguage Spanish, however when in Spain English, they sit on the fence and have done for generations.

The main street has all the shops and links from the Casemates square up towards the cable car. A wide variety of stores from very local ones that the UK has lost to some of the larger chains seen at home. Take the alleys off the main street to find some great architecture along with bars and other attractions, such... More

This is a high street pure and simple. Don't expect any wow here. There are familiar names and much of the range of stuff you would find elsewhere. At least though it is less scruffy than it was some years ago and those responsible have done a god job. It can be very crowded if two cruise ships are in... More

We were told by our driver that the exchange rate is very expensive in the shops if you do not have British Pounds. Use your credit cards and pay the fee once! If you use Euro, you may be charging yourself the fee $$ to Euro and then again to GBP.

After a boat trip to see dolphins we had some time to spend in the Main Street. Loads of great shops and to be honest could have spent a lot more time there. Picked up a few bargains and momentos
