We both stayed in and explored the parador. The hostal has a fascinating history and 'the tour' is well signed. We were particularly moved by the room where Segovia held master classes. And the chapel is marvellous. We ate in the restaurant just once - a wedding anniversary - and the food was delicious. Breakfasts are self-service style, good and... More

This is THE hotel to stay in. It is right opposite the Cathedral and has a character all of its own. The reception is not that impressive but the main body of the hotel certainly is, as are the rooms. Very pricy but a five day Parador card kept the cost down slightly. Lovely old fashioned room with four poster... More

Now the fancy (and expensive) parador next to the cathedral, it is worth a walk through the lobby for the atmosphere. Prices are sky high, but guests seem to like it.

The former Hospital Real from medieval times was transformed into a luxury hotel some years ago. Although classified as a "Parador", this is one of the finest and certainly the best located hotel in Santiago. Even if you don't check in, go inside and admire the interior courtyards.

Very beatiful and a good hotel, if you can afford it. The Hostal de los Reys Catolicos is located beside the cathedral, it's worth visiting.

This is actually in the Parador de Santiago. Since we stayed there, there was no entrance fee, so I'm not sure what the cost is. However, it is extremely interesting and is worth a visit.

What can I say as a Pilgrim on the Camino Frances that has not been said since the visits to this place since 1500's. It's a great way to end what for many is a month or more of introspection...unless you are heading for the coast at Finesterre. Was over 55 so I qualified for discount rate and breakfast thrown... Although the cloisters are normally only accessible to guest, it is possible to visit them. If possible try to take a look inside the chapel situated at the centre of complex. The parador is very expensive and therefore I would not recommend to stay there nor to take any refreshments at the bar.

Been here after each of my hikes and always got a rude reception. Can't say it tempted me to slap down my Visa and ask for a room.

Normally these type of large old hotels are not my thing. But I must admit this one surprised me . Great service, vast spaces, perfect location, wonderful staff, delicious breakfast, comfy bed, huge room, modern bathroom, great amenities, fitting decor, Just an all round great experience that I couldn't fault in any way
