Day 4 - Northward to Spain's Atlantic City, La Coruna. Torre de Hercules was waiting for us. The simple yet massive fine line can always be told that of the Romans. Seeing this still standing strong and functioning structure gives everyone locals or tourists, a thankful sigh that we were spared to witness the beautiful remembrance of the past. The... More

Interesting mainly for the age of the tower itself. I believe it to be one of the oldest original lighthouse sites in the world. Some archeological exhibits to see under the tower. Great views from the top. Worth seeing if your in A Coruna . More

We caught the first glimpse of the tower about a mile away. It's on a very picturesque peninsula. There's a... More

This very old and still functioning lighthouse made of stone is located on a peninsula surrounded by the fierce waves of the Atlantic Ocean. You can stroll around in the park which surrounds in and enjoy the views on the sea. And of course you can climb up its stairs to have superb (if usually windy) view of the different... More

During our trip to Santiago we rented a car to go to Lugo and A Coruna. Both sites were interesting. However, our children loved the tower, due to the wonderful rocks and ocean surrounding the tower. The tower has been restored and is no longer what you would think as a Roman ruin, but it is still very fun to... More
