Except for the trade-mark view of the town featured in many travel guides and the photo opportunity it provides there's not much else in Onyar River. Well, maybe huge carps swimming in its waters

Lovely view while on the bridges especially when the sun is shining it is great for photos. The houses on the sides are a bit trashy looking, but it sort of adds to the atmosphere of a pretty shanty town.

The river is very shallow and dirty. It provides a good scenery for the buildings around it but people shouldn't expect anything similar to Venice where the water is relatively cleaner and deep. There's no smell which is good but watching ducks struggle with the trash is a terrible sight.

The river itself is not interesting, but there are some bridges that are perfect photo spots that may include it.

I must have so many photos of this little section of the Onyar in Girona but it never ceases to amaze me. The quality of the architecture and colours are a tribute to careful town planning, but the river's reflections and the birds that share it, place nature right in the centre of the old town. Take a few moments... More

The Onyar River divides the old town from the new and does not take much rain to see the river in full flow. We had a unit that overlooked the river and there was always much to see.

The walk through the river in Girona offers you great views of the houses on the water, the old and different bridges and even great paths to go. Really enjoyable to have a romantic view of the city.

More of a stream than a river that cuts through the centre of the town. No boating activity. Lots of bridge crossing points!

This river crosses through the town. While walking along the river, you might be lucky to see fish swimming and ducks having some fun. Lining the river, are spectacular images of the brightly painted façades of houses overlooking the Onyar (the river that crosses the city). These houses are famous scenes. The area is part of the old town, with... More
