Main Girona river, Onyar, crosses the city and divides the old(and touristic) suburbs and the modern ones. Sometimes they make decorations, but more than the river, the beautiful places are the bridges(especially Pont de Pedra) and the houses in the shore.

Very pretty river overlooked by a myriad of colourful houses. There are plenty of places to cross as they seem to like building bridges, one of which was apparently built by Eiffel himself. We were here at the end of July and there was plenty of water in the river, which contained some pretty big fish (the water runs very... More

The river and her many bridges are very beautiful in the summer sun. A classical view one minute and then the drying washing from a myriad of people. Mooch and observe!

Perhaps when the Pyrenean snows melt after winter, the river becomes a wild, foaming torrent, but at the end of May it was only a shallow trickle, winding its way sluggishly between the beds of reeds. At the very end of the day it would shine in the setting sun like a ribbon of molten gold.

The river was quite full with lots of wild life swimming around, Ducks with their babies and it looked as if there was plenty for them to eat in the water. With the colourful building either side made some lovely pictures.

When we were there, the water was not there as it was not the season for it. So it looked nothing like the photos, as there was rather tiny ponds than a river. But got to understand that the water is not always that accessible, and needs to be utilized right

The Onyar River dissects the old and the new towns and is particularly interesting because of the colourfully painted houses that run along the river bank. There are several bridges that cross the river in central Girona and the most notable is the Eiffel Bridge. The riverside is attractive and attracts many visitors so for the best photos it is...
