Great outdoor activities

Lake Banyoles is great for any type of outdoor activity, I strongly recommend walking/hiking around the perimeter of the lake to enjoy its natural beauty and fauna!

I would definitely recommend going to Banyoles if you are taking a trip to Catalonia, especially in the Girona province. It is lovely for a Sunday walk around the lake, you can hire rowing boats or enjoy the amazing views or feed the ducks! Lovely place for families. Very easy to get the bus from Girona

i was very impressed with the lake and all if the watersports on offer. It really is a great day out for all ages. They have even prepared a sandy track around the perimeter for walkers or runners. The surroundings are also very green , a perfect place to spend the day. Very near to the Town centre.

we overnighted in Girona and decided to stop by here on our route home. Well worth the detour, the lake is very large and hidden away at the back of the town.It was a Saturday so there were all sorts of water sports going on there. It was great to see everyone out and about doing activities, whether in the... More

Big lake, good for renting a bicycle and cycle around. Good to be at the sun and see the views. Good area for parking, to eat and close to other small cities around.

Had a lovely paddle on the Lake, booked at the last minute through www.sportravelling.com. Only 15 Euros each and we could take as long as we like. The local rep, Atilio, who helped sort out our group of 5 was very helpful, friendly and spoke good English. Highly recommend Caiac I Natura: www.caiacinatura.com.

First question was...where is the beach? No official open beach, this is huge minus for me. There is one place, one sport club, with beach but ticket cost 11euro, it is a little bit too much for me, so we went 150m to the left and we found nice restaurant (great coffee 1,5euro, some cold drinks and food) with lake acces... Instead of going to a crowded beach i decided to go to the beautiful lake Banyoles. Parking was easy and then there is a nice walking path at the side of the whole lake (one side it is the side of the road). There even is a part where you can swim. The trees provide a welcome shade. It would... More

A lovely lake, easy to walk around, but with several free bathing areas available. One bar was on the lakeside with bathing from it for a minimum spend of 2 euros. Lovely.

The arab baths are worth a look - however there is little to them really. Not much collateral by way of context or interpretation either. Only a couple of euros - so would visit.
