We were taken here on our day tour of the area. It is a beautiful little lake in a beautiful little town in a beautiful area. I would love to spend a month or two out here hiking, fishing, boating, rowing, and just exploring. The largest fresh water lake in Catalonia with very interesting origins and properties.

Marvelous place, to walk around and to sail inside the lake. Lots of nature to discover. Lots of activities to do with family and without. Porqueres Church which is next to the lake it's also a nice place to visit. Not always opened but nice to see from outside. To walk around the lake it's more or less one hour.... More

We never expected such an amazing place to be found in this area of spain. We were going round with our car and my wife noted on the internet about this place and so we decided to give it a go. When we arrived we were amazed by the size of the lake and the lifestyle round it. Simply beautiful... More

Delightful spot for a picnic, coffee or lunch on the shores of Banyoles lake. The water is crystal clear and good for swimming & paddling. The lake also serves as the training ground for Olympic rowers.

What a beautiful spot to visit. I came while the sun was setting and let's just say- the pictures were to die for!

Good value, eco-friendly boat ride for approximately 1 hour across and around the lake. Beautiful scenery, very peaceful, with English commentary for 7 Euros perhead.

Lake was good but had to pay 6 euro to get to the main swimming area where drinks were another 5. Also be warned if you want to eat out as we were there in August and everything in the town only seemed to open on a fri,sat and sun ! One holiday to Banyoles is enough.

Nice lake but coming from a country full of them I didn't quite see the charm in this little one. Nice to bath in fresh water and watch the people as this place is popular with the locals. There is a nice walk around the lake but surprisingly after having a nice pedestrian path in the beginning you end up... More

This lake to me is beautiful! I love that it held the rowing for the Barcelona Olympics and that its not rare to see famous tri-athletes or cyclists rolling around the lake front. Often stopping for a coffee at the aquarium cafe. Its very pretty and worth a walk around.
