This past weekend, I went to a Cook and Taste class (bought tickets through Viator) with my mother and sister and it was a great experience! We did the Boqueria tour in the morning as well and it was such a unique experience to walk around the market and learn more about local food. Our cooking teacher, David, was fantastic... More

We found this place in Rick Steves 2015 Spain tour book and booked it two days ahead. No prepay just let them know if you can't make it. It is a little tricky to find so give yourself plenty of time. Our Chef, David guided our walk to La Bocqueria Market pointing out several of the Gotic attractions along the... More

I booked La Boqueria tour in addition to the cooking class. The tour made Boqueria less intimidating. Chef David explained why fresh markets are important and what he looks for in vegetables, fish, and meat. In the class, there was only three of us, but that meant we could be more hands on. Everyone participated in each dish, appetizers, paella,... More

My daughter and 3 friends who are studying abroad in Barcelona and I all took the Cook & Taste Foodie Tour. Our guide, Maria Jose, was a bundle of energy and very knowledgeable. She took us through the Boqueria Market where we sampled ham, cheese, olives and fruit while she explained cultural customs/practices. We then had a couple of stops... More

We found this place in Movida's book on Barcelona, and booked online from England. They didn't ask for any money up front, only that we let them know if we couldn't make it. We did make it (it took us 40 minutes to walk from Sagrada Familia area) and it was the most fun I've had in Barcelona (and this... More

We had a fantastic experience with this cooking school. The teacher Mario was one of the nicest people we met in Barcelona and had an incredible amount of patience. We have previously done cooking classes in France, Sydney and Thailand and always enjoyed them however never really learnt much. This was different! Mario taught us so many little tips about... Just attended a fabulous market tour and cooking class. Our guide and chef was David and he was friendy, informative and good fun. We had a group of 7 both locals and from overseas. Highly recommended.

My wife and I do a cooking class in just about every country we visit and this was our least favorite. Let's start with the awful weather on the day our class was scheduled and how we had the time confused and arrived early in the pouring rain only to be told to find something to do and come back... We had a great time learning different types of food to prepare including the famous Paella. The Chef David made sure everyone participated and also ensured we would not be hungry while we cooked! We had wine and appetizers along the way and then we sat and ate a basically a 5 course meal! I would recommend this cultural adventure... More

Our first day in Barcelona was Cook & Taste. I'm normally leery of market tours and classes, but our chef guides were low key, down to earth but fun. Our 17 and 20 year old got acclimated to the town it made for a nice day of eating, learning to make paella and of course some wine.

Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
