This was an amazing experience. David, our instructor, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Everyone there became friends by the end and I learned a lot not only about cooking, but about Barcelona as well. It was definitely a class for beginners, so don't expect to learn anything too complicated. But you can make things more interesting by asking questions.... More

We enjoyed to market visit, prior to cooking. The group we cooked with was very friendly and fun. The food was delicious! Our chef was patient and informative, and the preparation went like clockwork.

13 of us were treated to a half day with Chef David. Our cooking class began with a walking tour of the Boqueria Market where Chef David selected and explained the food we would be preparing. He was very engaging and took the time to explain the selections he made from the vendors he has used over the years. A... More

It was so much fun!! I highly recommend it! Especially the market option in the morning! That was the best part. I learned so much from Maria, who has so much knowledge and passion for food and is not shy to share what she knows with the most awesome sense of humour.

Our chef David took us on an engaging shopping trip to the markets and then guided a small group of amateur chefs in making some traditional Catalonian dishes. It was a wonderful experience and we were well looked after and it was also an opportunity to learn some cooking techniques that we can take home with us. Big thank you... More

Great class, small group and very hands-on. Prepared several dishes. We ate the dishes and were served wine.

Having done about 12 or so cooking classes (US, Paris, Italy and now Barcelona), I would say this one struck the perfect balance. As a group of 10 we prepared 4 recipes, but also tapas to "pick on" while we waiting for the main course. Water and wine flow freely and the instructor had a perfect personality for this class.... David met with us at 9:30am. We walked through the Barri Gotic looking at traditional food stores before heading to La Boqueria Market on Las Ramblas. It's very busy and touristy, but we were there early and David took us to meet many of the vendors that he knew personally. We saw and bought local seafood, meats, spices and produce.... More

Have experienced many cooking classes in other cities. Cook and Taste is quite extensive with David. We met at the class space first. 4 couples in all none of us knew each other before. We walked to the local market where David explained the local vendors. He was well known and was knowledgeable and eager to share why he chose... More

A fabulous cooking & social experience....David our chief was excellent in both showing us around the market & instructing us with the cooking...we would have loved some music to complete our evening.

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
