Boadas has been serving cocktails since 1933 so plainly it's been doing it right! The bar itself is small, no more than 15-20 seats, but its well deserved reputation is huge. There's no drinks menu as such. You either ask for cocktails you already know or just tell the barman what kind of drinks you like and he'll concoct one... More

Went for a drink in the cocktail bar and as we are used to seeing cocktail menu's was surprised when they said "no menus". Which goes to show the wealth of knowledge their bar staff have in making cocktails. I had a mojito and my friend had a strawberry daiquiri which was quite lovely. We only stayed for one drink... For those who are not considered as bar geeks, I am since a bartending is my job . . Only had a chance to see two or three older bars. This is tip - top, small, cosy, great staff and no trends, making drinks like in 1940 . .

Had drinks on our first evening in Barcelona. A small crowded place with a lot of history and ambience. Worth a visit to experíence "old Barcelona"

This place has a really cool vibe and the bartender makes cocktails according to your preferences. There was a nice mix locals and tourists when were there.

My father was an airline pilot and told me of this place when we visited as a family in the 60's. I went to Barcelona again in the 21st century and found it exactly as he had described it. Tuxedoed bar men. Pictures and music of Sinatra and his pals. True to it's name, this is a cocktail bar -... More

small bar with a big personality. open since 1933 and it reeks of cocktail history. We loved it. The staff are friendly and will make a drink just to your taste. We are going back tomorrow night too.

We went there for the last drink before heading back to the hotel and it had definitely been a charming discovery! Very professional waiters, highly skilled and ready to take the challenge of preparing you an awesome cocktail just based on your preference. Menus are not needed in this place, it still look like being back in the '30s when... More

Maybe it just wasn't for me, but I have to disagree with many of the reviews here. I found it to be stuffy and unwelcoming. It was busy at the bar, and has a good location, but just did nothing for me. We ordered two vespers and weren't impressed with the cocktails either. They are have no menu to offer... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighborhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-meter boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetizing selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
