It’s a great show to see. The fountain lights up as music is played and the water goes up like a geyser. There are crowds of people there but it isn’t overwhelming. People sit on the steps and watch. This was a super show. They start at 9:30pm and go until 12:30 am. We were there during the beginning of a holiday/festival week in Barcelona so we got the added feature of fireworks during one of the early shows. Definitely worth a visit. Have dinner before you go so you can enjoy several shows during the evening (especially if you have children with you). more

We visited the fountains on the last night of a short break and were so glad we went. Easy to find, free and very lovely to witness, the whole area and backdrop is stunning.Walk back to town down the long avenue lined by smaller fountains and you can't take your eyes off the spectacle.Starts about 8 at this time of... more

If you've ever been to Las Vegas, the Bellagio hotel has a nicer fountain show. If you haven't, you're not going to miss anything. I guess it's nice to fight through the crowds and sit around for 20 minutes staring at a lit up fountain doing crazy tricks to the sounds of classical music, but it wasnt for my friends... more

the area surrounding the fountain is lovely. we went during the day so missed the show, but the fountain on its own is amazing, much bigger than you expect & we went to the museum for a cultural hit as well. more

we liked it so much we went two evenings in a raw to see it! it was much better than anything we imagined: it's a perfect way to spend your evenings, every show has a different music, from classic to latest pop hits, there's something in it for everyone. don't forget last show starts at 11:30 and it is only the weekend, we ran from the metro and were able to see the last 10 minutes. Well worth it. more

It's safer to sit on the stairs than to just stand around and attract a pickpocket! but you need to get there an hour early to find a place on the stairs. Bring some water and perhaps a sandwich, wait for the sun to go down, and the show to begin. The music and lighting were marvelous. Hey, it's free. more
