Neighborhood: El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

In the hidden streets of the Borne this little cultural centre is tucked away off the beaten track. The space has a resemblance to what one would imagine a nomad tent to be - full of beautiful lights and magical music. There are a ton of great events every week and the artists are from all over the globe. There is always an eclectic range of performance from music to poetry to children stories and language exchange. There are nice alcoholic drinks as well as non alcoholic options - I liked the Moroccan tea! Super atmospheric and welcoming - thanks Zac, Najib and Veronica you guys have done a wonderful job....

My friends and I stumbled upon this place (ARC Center near the Jaume I metro stop in Barcelona) while we we were looking for a good place with drinks. Once we saw that it was rather cheap entry (4€), we decided to stop inside and check it out. When we got there, it was an intimate room with a small concert happening. There was a very talented pair of musicians who sang what we thought were probably Barcelonian/Spanish indie music. It was awesome to hear because it was a musical taste of Barcelona that we hadn't seen yet. A great way to top off our Saturday night, and we all highly recommend that anyone visiting Barcelona who is a music and culture lover should stop by this place and check it out.

Very interesting from various aspects: music, concerts, jam sessions, art expositions, interesting duscussions, etc etc. Apart from going quite often, I also had there the party of my phd thesis defense and I cannot think of a better place to have celebrated it. Najib, Zak y Esther makes everybody feel like home, a multicultural home where you interact with interesting people, interchange ideas, relax and enjoy. I highly recommend it.
