Montjuic was once the venue for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix. I recommend Barcelona's cable car ride from La Barceloneta which was built in 1929 & gives passengers a bird's eye view of the city & harbour. Modern art lovers won't want to miss the CaixaForum & painting buffs will love the excellent Miro Foundation Gallery devoted to the... More

We took the funicular from the Paral-lel metro station (the funicular is integrated in the metro system, so if you get there with the metro, you can use the funicular without extra charge) to Montjuic. First, we went from the funicular station to the Jardins de Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer. It was a short walk, and the garden is truly lovely.... More

Take the train to Parallel Station and I suggest to take the cable car if you done tons of walking already. The return journey for the trip is roughly around €10 and an excellent way to enjoy the view. There is a slight side wind which cause the carriage to swing a little. A great way to see the view... We decided to visit Montjuic on the last day of our stay in Barcelona. Snce we have been doing a lot of walking for the past few days, we decided that we are going to "cheat". We took the metro to Espanya stop and took bus 193 just outside the metro station. For Euro 1.30, we get a Hop-on Hop-off... More

The views of the city from Montjuic are wonderful, but the rest of the attraction is nothing special. More

The views of the city from Montjuic are unsurpassed. Forget about the lines to get up staircases and elevators in the monuments and churches in the city, and take one of the cable cars to Montjuic More

We took the cable car uphill and then walked down to see Magic Fontain. The view from the hill is nice, but the fortress itself does not offer much to see and the exhibition was poor. The gardens were not great either. More

Must see place and day full of great activities. You can go to the Castle and see the city, see one of the best Miro's works, see the great Palace and National museum, see the magical fountains dancing to the music or go to Poble Espanol, the beautiful recreation of typical Spanish country houses gathered in one small city.
