The meeting point is inside TRAVEL Bar, just off Las Ramblas on the street leading straight away from where the Miro mosaic and the Chinese dragon are, every day, rain or shine. -- Introduction to BARCELONA Free Walking Tour at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00 (and 18:00 in Jul-Sep) -- Introduccion a BARCELONA Tour Guiado Gratuito a las 11:00 (en Castellano) -- Introduction to GAUDI Free Walking Tour at 11:00 -- Alternative & STREET ART Free Walking Tour at 15:00 -- Barri Gotic PHOTOGRAPHY Free Walking Tour at 15:00 Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon -- Barcelona HIGHLIGHTS Free Bicycle Tour at 11:00 (and 18:00 in Jul-Sep) -- Introduction to BARCELONA Free Walking Tour This tour is the perfect way to discover our city. Whether you're here for just a day or two or for longer our English (or Spanish/Italian) speaking, long-time residents of Barcelona will introduce you to some of the old towns most important sights and hidden gems. We will make the medieval Gothic Quarter come to life and teach you all you need to know about the people, culture, cuisine and history of Catalonia's hedonistic capital to help you get the most out of your stay. -- Introduction to Antoni GAUDI Free Walking Tour During this ~5km (3mi) long tour we will introduce you to the magical and sometimes mad world of architectural and design genius Antoni Gaudi. Chronologically you will get to stand in front of 5 of his works, 4 of them being the UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Palau Guell, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila (aka La Pedrera) and his master piece Sagrada Familia. We will help you to experience the unique and distinctive style of his creations while getting interesting background information about both his works and his life. -- Alternative & STREET ART Free Walking Tour In this tour we will take you away from the big tourist sights to help you understand what Barcelona is really about. We will teach you how to read the hidden city all around us. Signs, tags, symbols, art and more telling you the stories of everything from anarchism, dictatorship, social and protest movements and Civil War to squats and hidden community gardens. The capturing stories are often told by beautiful, both legal and illegal, street art in almost every corner. We will help you answer the whys!? -- Barri Gotic PHOTOGRAPHY Free Walking Tour This tour combines walking through the Barri Gotic with a professional photography class. It offers you the unique experience of on-location tuition from a professional photographer. No matter if you're a beginner or a professional, we will help you develop your photo skills. It's not important if you have a high end camera, a point and shoot camera or a smartphone, the important thing is to understand how photography works. It's the photographer that makes the difference, not the equipment. -- Barcelona HIGHLIGHTS Free Bicycle Tour During this ~2h/~12km (7,5mi) tour you'll be introduce to a Barcelona best and easiest reached by bicycle. We will, among others, ride along the 5km long a beach, through beautiful parks and see some of the important historical buildings and monuments that shaped our fascinating city. This tour is only for those who knows how to ride a bike. We will at times be riding on trafficked streets. We reserve the right to cancel tours due to bad weather. Maximum 15 people/tour. After the tours we give you the unique opportunity to sit down inside Travel Bar with your guide to talk, discuss, ask questions and make new friends with your fellow travelers over a glass of locally produced beer or lovely Sangria, Spain's famous wine punch, and maybe even some tapas?

Today I went on a free walking tour with Max. Although we were a small group, Max was very engaging and thorough. Tour was more of a sit-down and less of a walk, partly because of the rainy weather conditions. Max gave us a HUGE history lesson with a lot of facts and details, all in a very artistic and... More

Our guide, Jana, was very knowledgable and entertaining. As well she made the time to give us recommendations on restaurants and other sights to check out in Barcelona. It was well worth it and I would recommend the tour!

It was great fun to follow Christina and Andrej! We are happy that we joined the smaller tours than the main one, because it was only 8 of us both days. Firstly, we wanted to see Gaudi and we learned also about Domenech and Puig i Cadafalch. Tour with Christina (I hope I didn't mess her name - sorry if... More

This walking tour was brilliant! We had to leave early to catch the flight home, but our guide Joseph made what we had of the tour great! Breaking everything down to 'chapters' and inspiring our imaginations to run wild as he guided us around the city and also teasing us with hints of what was on the other tours which... More

We did this tour our first day in Barcelona. Never would we have learned as much about what we were seeing and walking around if Max was not there to give us a historical perspective. While I am not a history person and found myself tuning out occassionly I do appreciate the information . So many times I walk by... More

This tour is really worth doing in your first few days in Barcelona to see some great and otherwise hard to find/ hear about sights as a tourist. Really happy that we did it. We had Chrissy as a tour guide. She is very friendly and knowledgable. If we have one complaint, it is that this is not really a... More

Went on this walk around the old Gothic part of the city 22/2/2015. Got me into using my camera again after losing interest in photography for a while. Andre had a lot of knowledge about the area and advice on photography techniques. Had a bit of a history of cameras explained as well. So much to see in this city.... More

I came to this bar where the tour started and there was no one. I waited for 10 minutes and guy came to me and said that in second the guide will come and the tour will start. I was the only one who came for that particular tour. I waited the guide for 20-25 minutes and then just left... More

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
