It was a great experience. We were taken there by a friend who lives there, we were planning it for another day. But well worth it. Amazing. There was no fee, we were told that there is. It was Saturday, i dont know if it makes any difference.

It might be because I'm from Barcelona, or just because this church is so amazing, but it's my favourite in the city. Strong, robust, classy and elegant are just some adjectives for it. Just go and admire both the austere appearance form outside and the magnificient calm inside. If you're interested in the story behind the church I recommend you... More

Well worth the walk from the Ramblas. Full of history & surrounded by historical buildings. What a treat.

Very Gothic, very high and a sight well worth seeing. Don't confuse it with the other Iglesia Santa Maria!)

In Spanish or Catalan it just rolls off your tongue as you speak it. The cathedral was my favorite in Barcelona with The Cathedral in second place, but for my wife it was the opposite way around. Either way, both are different & delightful. Santa Maria like many Barcelona church was almost destroyed during Franco revolution. That this beautiful building... More

Been to Barcelona many times during the last many years and this is one of my favorite Cathedrals. One must definitely visit this lovely cathedral during a stay in Barcelona,it is well worth a visit. As well as the area around, the Gothic quarter. Be aware of the their dress code.

My wife wanted to light a candle - but a 6 Euro entry charge to enter a church? Greed is not good! Put a tax on hotel rates and share it around.

Such a stunning architecture! We did not go inside a lot of crowds. You could hear organ music from inside, and everyone was taking pictures, and enjoying the atmosphere.
