BCN's rich architectural scenery is both heavily ornamented and widely varied. While exploring the gothic quarter is very easy to find several churches, all with an adorned doors , high ceilings and embellished arches . Definitely worth planning a visit to if you are walking around the gothic quarter !

Another church on your tour around the city? Make it more exciting by reading the novel "La catedral del mar" (there´s an english edition) by author Ildefonso Falcones before you enter. The novel tells you in a very exciting way about the construccion of the cathedral in the XIV centuary, along with other interesting stories from medieval Barcelona!

Young guide was very knowledgeable about the church and surrounding area. Got to go on the rooftop to see around the area and understand how this place came to be.

Another magnificent religious building off the beaten track, hidden away in a small corner. It really is important to turn off the main streets and go down the small side streets, you really never know what you will find.

We visited on the recommendation of a tour guide and were not disappointed. If you pop in after 5pm, it's free!

This is a church for praying. The soaring arches are beautiful with nothing to distract you. Very little ornamentation. If I had the time I could of stayed there for hours. It is a beautiful church that doesn't hide behind ornate trappings. Don't miss it!

Walking through the gothic quarter, you will find this great expression of such architecture. Let yourself go, if there are choirs, sit down and enjoy.

A beautiful one to view. The outside, is good for pictures, the inside is, well, another cathedral. So, you will see it since there is no way of avoiding it.
