Nice church

Nice gothic style church hidden away near the port. Lots of confusion and congestion at the entrance as they were charging to get in when I understand its normally free.

Great old church. They have concerts here. Enjoyed hot chocolate out front. Explore the area. Good shopping.

The space inside is huge. When you look from the outside, it's misleading because inside it's cavernous. Lovely, bustling area outside and so calm and peaceful inside. If you're a church-lover, miss out the SagradaFamilia and come here instead.

This is a church exhibiting clean Gothic architecture and it is very austere, probably in part due to a massive fire many years ago. It is nice to walk through and get an appreciation of the style which is clearly displayed due to the bare stonework

We visited the Basilica as apart of our tour of the Gothic Quarter. I was particularly struck by the open airiness. Internally, we learned of the place's history including the damage wrought by major fires and the civil war. There was no entry fee, which is refreshing these days.

There are a lot of pretty churches in Barcelona. This one is gorgeous and a fun place to walk to. If you're in the area, go see it!

Stunning Gothic Cathedral among many others in Barcelona with amazing architecture and beautiful stained glass windows and Gothic sculptures inside. Loved it a lot. Those who are inclined to Gothical architecture and historical monuments should absolutely go there.

Had the great pleasure to have visited the church. Stunning architecture, peaceful and claim brought to mind when you entered the place. Worth visiting even you if are not religious.

much smaller than most churches but interesting. There is a small charge to get in but it is lovely to look around. There is a free toilet at the back near the courtyard. Most of the exhibitions are in Spanish only. If you wish to light a real candle (as opposed to a plastic light) but one at the counter... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
