This cathedral is not the flashiest or biggest in Barcelona. But if you have read the book or know any of its history, you know how special it is. Also, the inside of Santa Maria del Mar serves as the inspiration for La Sagrada Familia, with its "trees". A nice afternoon at this cathedral is work the visit.

I'm a cathedral buff, and I have to say that this is one of my favorites anywhere. The architecture is austere, but the soaring ceiling is magnificent and the atmosphere is magical. Swing by in the evening to see the cathedral's towers catch the last rays of the setting sun (you can enjoy a glass of wine on the plaza... More

Great architecture, from the entrance looks so big, when at the altar if you look back it's not that big, tremendous type of trompe l'oeil, great architecture

This church is utterly beautiful in all ways. It a must to visit as there plenty to view. Try to go as late as possible in the day as it's give you a different feeling. Easy to find and lots of small shops and restaurants.

Beautiful stained glass, very interesting ceiling and mural. Is not big but you just want to walk along the aisle or have a moment of quietness here. Recommended, no charge..enjoy it.
