I love to look in churches that are this ornate and gorgeous. The architecture is just amazing. It didn't take much time to see it, but it was worth the visit. There were several people on/near the steps begging for money.

Nice Church, But overrated in my opinion, great example of gothic architecture, I've seen more beautiful churches than this one. It also was quite neutral in comparison to some great churches.

Loved hearing the history - built by the people over a period of less than 100 years as opposed to most churches and cathedrals built by the rich over hundreds of years. church felt like an authentic expression of the spirituality of the craftsmen who built is stone by stone.

Very pretty, worth going through if you are in the area. Not sure if I would make a special visit to see it, unless you have read Cathedral by the Sea, and want to see the church the book was based on. Also very close to Picasso Museum, you could combine the two for a nice afternoon.

I loved this church. It was beautiful. I was surprised how spacious it was inside. The whole area it sits in was fun to explore and enjoy the cafés. Tip: there was a man turning away women with no sleeves or shorter shorts. I had a sleeveless shirt and shorts, but they were dressy so I think that's why he... More

Amazing how buildings like this and Sagrada la Familia could have been created with none of today's helpful machinery.

Despite its size, this basillica was built in only less tha sixty years. It was paid by the neighbours of the area: harbour workers, fishermen, traders and craftsmen; many helped with their labour and skills. Reflecting this, the church is sober for being gothic, and has a remarcable uniformity of style throughout. This makes it extremely pleasant to the eye.... More
