If you really want to appreciate this church read Cathedral of The Sea if you are planning to come, if not you may miss a lot but will still find it a beuty
This is a beautiful 14th Century Medieval Church with flying buttresses and lovely stained glass that catches the sunlight. The Cathedral was tucked away in-between lots of other buildings but we found it easily and really glad we did, it was a little gem. One of my 2 favorite cathedrals. Majestic architecture, breathtaking building, and great history. This imposing structure is not overly ornate, but relies on its purity of form to impress.
Yes of course Sagrada Familia is a must, but it is more like architectural masterpiece. There is no such holiness as in Basilika of Santa Maria del Mar. No wait!! Walked right in it wasn't to busy. Great place wether you are Catholic or not. More peaceful than Sagrada Familia if you are looking to have a moment of peace or prayer. Free is hard to find in Spain so take advantage! Beautiful arctitexure!
