This was our first trip to Barcelona and the Discover Walks tour with Xavier was the first thing we did in the morning after we arrived. What a great tour. We started at the popular "Apple of Discord" block of houses which included the fine Gaudi example. Then the Casa Pedrera and other sights and a short subway ride to... More

A must do if you are new to Barcelona. We joined 2 tours - Gaudi tour and La Rambla tour. Oscar (Gaudi tour) and Laura (La Rambla) are both very experience and knowledgeable. On Gaudi tour, Oscar shared us the Eixample area history and it's design. Oscar also showed us the area's building architecture design, their differences, and some of... More

This is a great way to wander around the interesting Barri Gotic neighborhood of Barcelona, taking the narrow side streets you would normally not choose, and hear many distinctive stories about the history and inhabitants of the barrio. The Discover Walks guide, Patricia, had many personal stories to interject into the tour, making it a very interesting and 'real' experience.

Learnt a lot from an informative 2 hour Gaudí free tour with Oscar. Even though I was the only person who showed up (so it became a private tour), Oscar explained all the Gaudí buildings in great detail, including many points of interest which not many people would notice. Highly recommended for laymen seeking to appreciate Gaudís marvellous architechture. Convenient... More

We went in with zero expectations and loved it. Laura obviously loves the Gothic Quarter and is extremely knowledgeable particularly about art and architecture. This tour was a great adjunct to the Fat Tire Bike Tour we did the day before. I really recommend it although our two teenagers probably weren't as engaged as I was. We paid about 40... More

This is the first walking tour that we have taken (anywhere) and we wonder what took us so long!!! Xavi was a very personable and knowledgeable guide and provided us with much more information on the Barri Gotic than gained from our guidebook. In addition, he provided interesting personal insights and experiences. We would highly recommend this tour....especially at the... More

This was a fantastic tour! We've been on many walking tours in many cities and this was among the best. Our guide, Oscar, combined his native experiences, historical knowledge, passion, and great humour. He answered every question we had and personalised the tour as we went along.

Only managed to do one of the three walks but would definitely like to do the others if i return to Barcelona. Biel our guide was very passionate and knowledgeable about the city ....and who can blame him as it is a beautiful city. Saw much more than we would have either on our own or on a city bus... More

While in Barcelona we took 2 walking tours with Xavi - the Gaudi Tour and the El Born Tour. We had visited the Park Guell and Casa Batllo the previous day and the information that we learned on this tour was fascinating and added greatly to what we had learned the day before. The tour ended at the Sagrada Familia... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
