Pleasant day's wandering

Views, gardens and things to see. It's always pleasant to find any city's "green lung" and Montjuic ids Barcelona's.

Lovely place. Definitely recommend but beware of the fountain times. We sat.... Along with others for an hour waiting for the fountain show.... For the small sign saying only shows thurs, fri.sat and sun! Gutted!!

Beautiful Gardens, Castle and Views. I loved the experience. Walking up the mountain or taking the cable car.

nice place to visit if you live not very far from it. But if you live quite far than only one visit is enough. Great view, nice cafe, and a quiet place...

A place not to forget to see, after the trip with the teleferic and the visit at the castle...a downhill walk very fine across water and old trees...

A very green sprawling park that can be reached by bus, better than by metro that will test the strongest of trekkers with their stamina and fitness.Mont means MOUNTAIN.... just remember that.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
