The view from top of the hill is very nice, you see the magic fountain from uptop with the bull fighting ring behind. Didn't get a chance to see the lightshow with the fountain as the main actress but the word is that it is impresssive.

Great views and surprisingly quiet! We took the cable car up to it from the port and it was breath taking. You can see all of Barcelona which helps when you have not yet seen everything.

Start your trip on the funicular which takes you to the cable car.breath taking views over Barcelona. On reaching the top it's a short walk to Castell de Montjuic,5 Euros to get in. Views over the port are great. Then the other side over the city, well worth the time to view this. If you want you can walk down on... More

I enjoyed the views of the city below. The plant life is lovely but my main attraction to the area were the views.

Got the fenicular up from para-lel then cable car to the Castle. Superb views and a nice walk around the park, took in the olympic stadium and the grounds of the park itself. Felt adventurous so walked all the way back down.

The entire mountain has some fascinating stuff to see. We walked up the mountain (from Placa Espanya) and had a great view here and there. Some of the olympic-buildings were great to look at and don't forget to see the footsteps of the famous Spanish athletes, like Nadal. You can find these past the footballstadium. The cablecar towards the harbor... More

We took the funicular up the hill to the park. The views out over the fountains and across Barcelona were impressive. The park itself is lovely with places to sit in the shade and an excellent cafe. We visited the Miro museum too, and it was one of the best I've visited. There is an incredible installation with a mercury... More

Once you explored the sights/sounds and shops of Barcelona, take yourself to Montjuic for a refreshing respite among nature and the Joan Miro Museum.

I loved this! Plenty of variety, plenty of space to wander. Get the cable car up to the Castell for some spectacular views & an exhibition on the history of the area. On this occasion there was a festival with food & music galore. With a choice of gardens as well as the Fundaçió Joan Miro there is much on... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
