...and I live near Vancouver and it's famous Stanley Park! This is huge and full of all kinds of things. I could have spent about a week just checking out all the various gardens, the Palau Nacional (MNAC), Fundacion Miro, Ethnological Museum, Castillo de Montjuc, the funicular and the aerial tramway, and so on.

I hiked all the way over and up to this park from my hotel and made for quite the workout first thing on a Saturday. When I got to the top, the Castle was sadly not open, but I got a good work out getting there and it was a pleasant walk from there to the Museu Nacional d'Art de... More

The place is beautiful, peaceful, and inviting. Nearby you have the Montjuic funicular station. From there you can go to the castle. Near the Miramar hotel is the funicular station that will take you to Barceloneta (the beach).

The views from around the Parc are wonderful and the cable car ride to the castle is excellent. Visit spoiled by two young women posing as collectors of petition and stealing money at the same time.

Huge park, many trees and spots to rest, many paths to walk... The funicular leading to the top with the Castle is a nice part of this experience. A beautiful fountain close the funicular starting point.. The view from the top is just amazing ! Whole Barcelona lays in front of your eyes!!!

It took me a bit to find the funicular, but when I got to the top the view made me forget my frustration. There was a great breeze and an amazing view. I even made a friend.

It is worth going. There are many museums and other buildings to see. It is spacious and well served with buses, taxis and a 'very expensive) funicular. The view of the city is beautiful. One can spend an entire day there.

There is so much to do in this park you could spend your whole trip here! There is the magnificent museum of Catalan art, the Miro museum, the formidable Fort Montjuic (from which the Spaniards have bombarded Barcelona, no wonder there's a separatist movement!), a little-known but very comprehensive Roman museum, great views, well-tended paths and gardens, the tram, etc....
