Fantastic views

Metro to Paral.lel then the funicular up to the base of the cablecar. Fab view at the top. I'd get a combined cable car and castle ticket next time.

We took a cab to the base of the mountain and then took a cable car up to the top. It's just long enough to split a small bottle of champagne. Once up there the view of the city, beach, port is amazing. Toured the fort and got the history of the area. The diving pool from the Olympics is... More

We took the cable car up to Montjuic from just opposite the Olympic diving pool. Fantastic views. The castle is very beautiful and surrounded by lush greenery

Me and my boyfriend went here on the last night of our visit to see the fountain show and it was honestly breath-taking in all aspects. The views of the city at night were incredible and the fountain show was just spectacular. There;s plenty of little pop up bars, so we drank our way upto the top of the museum... More

Lovely park, lovely views. Castle worth a visit. Took the cable car up, quite expensive but good views. Very extensive area, can easily spend a day there.

The Parc de Montjuic has much to offer --a fortress, the Miró Foundation Museum, botanical gardens, the old Jewish Cemetery, the Olympic Stadium, the Poble Espanyol, the National Museum of Art, the Magic Fountain, among other attractions. Not to mention breathtaking views of the city. Excellent for culture vultures as well as for sports buffs, it is lots of fun... More

The whole Montjuic area is good for a walk away from the city, it has nice vegetation, two great museums, but most of all, the views are amazing.

This place is so worth seeing. The castle entrance is free and offers great views of the city. the history behind it makes it even more attractive. You will find rooms that offer information about the history and formation of the fort. Also, you will find the architechtural structures that show the evolution of the place. Worth visiting.

It was extremely hot day and we took a Cable car from the Barceloneta to Montjuïc. The whole area itself was amazing with nice view over the city. We truly enjoyed short stay there. Something very different than the main town. The nature was something very special for biologists and were truly enjoy every detail of the Montjuïc.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
