Owner description: bcnKITCHEN, just in the charming central district of El Born, is a local cooking school where we care about details, history, culture and gastronomy. Our love for food leads us from the school to a local food market in the very best center, where we buy some groceries and explain as much as we can around every little ingredient we see there, and back again to the school. Now, at this point, aprons on! Cook, learn, laugh, drink and enjoy while cooking. All around the kitchen, and then in the table, we’re going to get directly into Barcelona, Catalunya and Spain bite by bite, sip by sip.

Our Chef Rais, began the class by explaining the regional cuisine of Spain. Then she took us to a local market where she explained the process of of selecting the ingredients we were to use I and my . This was not only gastronomically educational , it afforded us the opportunity to walk through the ancient barrio gothic section of... More

This was one of the nicest experiences I had in Spain and I would recommend it highly to anyone who even vaguely enjoys cooking. The women running the workshop are highly professional but friendly and approachable. The food and wine are divine - and they are very generous with both. I am looking forward to trying out all the recipes... More

When I scheduled this cooking class I specifically told the staff that we were allergic to shellfish and wanted to do a paella without shellfish if we could. We were told by email that our request was not a problem. So when we got to the class to watch a shellfish paella being prepared, we were surprised. The chef informed... More

Taking the bcn KITCHEN class was one of the best parts of my 2 week visit to Barcelona. Rais, our chef extraordinaire, was not only informative about the neighborhood, culture, and recipes--but she was also fun. You could easily see the passion that she has for cooking and how much she enjoys sharing it with others. The market was great--actually... More

Had a brilliant class today with some fun people from all over the world and master chef, Rais. We first toured a market to get the ingredients and Rais explained all the dishes we'd be making along with their origins. The class was hands on with the wine free-flowing and we ended up producing some pretty delicious and good looking... More

My husband and I just completed a class this afternoon. We had such a wonderful time shopping for the ingredients at the local market, prepping and experiencing hands-on cooking of traditional Spanish dishes. I highly recmoment this experience while in Barcelona.

We really enjoyed our cooking class at BCN Kitchen in Barcelona. Alvaro, our chef and class leader was magnificent. We began the class by going over to the Mercat de Santa Catarina and picking out the fish and vegetables that we would use in the recipes. Alavaro taught us the differences between warm water and cold water fish as well... More

My friend and I enjoyed the whole experience. We got to visit the local market to pick up the produce we will use. What I enjoyed was the chef talking about the city and the places were passing through, gave a glance through a local. We then headed back to the kitchen and began cooking with the chef a complete course.... More

My friend Kathy and I were staying in the El Born district of Barcelona a couple of weeks ago and we walked by a window and saw a cooking class going on. We were planning to find a class in the city anyway so we stopped in and signed up. I’ve been to a lot of cooking classes and this... More
