Our love for food leads us from the school to a local food market in the very best center, where we buy some groceries and explain as much as we can around every little ingredient we see there, and back again to the school. Now, at this point, aprons on! Cook, learn, laugh, drink and enjoy while cooking. All around the kitchen, and then in the table, we’re going to get directly into Barcelona, Catalunya and Spain bite by bite, sip by sip. « less

This was fun and educational! Chef Alvaro explained why certain techniques were used along with other interesting facts. The visit to the Gothic market was better than the standard tourist attraction one at la Bouquerie. Lunch was delicious and a worthwhile experience for anyone that loves cooking!

One of the most fun activities of our time in Barcelona. My friend is a cook, but I only microwave, and we both enjoyed ourselves immensely. We spent an hour shopping for food, and then everyone (13 people) cooked. You can do as much or little as you want...I just chopped some vegetables and stirred some pots because that's what... More

It was a fun and educational afternoon at BCN. I loved going to the market to get our ingredients, learning about the saffron, fish and eggs we were going to use in our meal. Rais was a great teacher and it was obvious she loves to cook and share her knowledge and experience. This is a great way to learn... More

My husband and I attended this workshop and it was one of the best things we did in our two week trip through France and Spain! The visit to the market was especially interesting and we learned not only how to select the best ingredients here, but at home inthe US as well. Raisa was a great instructor and really... More

My daughter and I had a very enjoyable time at bcnKitchen, with Rais - a very knowledgeable, friendly and talented chef and teacher who spoke perfect English. The trip around the Santa Caterina market was a highlight, learning about typical Spanish ingredients, what they're for and how to chose wisely. Rais shared her passion for Barcelona and it's culinary heritage.... More

My daughter and I took the Market Tour and Cooking Class today and learned the tricks and secrets of delicious Catalan cooking. The market tour was fabulous: how to select fish, eggs, olive oil and saffron, etc. The entire class joined in the chopping, stirring, whipping, flipping and assembling while sipping wine. And the final meal was delicioso! Chef Reis... More

Just great, you should defiantly go for it! We went in our last day in Barcelona just before flight 7pm. It was wonderful, full of fun experience in our last day at the city.

We had an absolutely fabulous time at BCNKitchen. Alvaro was our chef and he was fun, funny, talented and a great teacher. We visited the market which was a fantastic experience and added an extra layer of both culture and education to our day. Then we returned to the stunning kitchen and started preparing our feast. We were told to... More

What I loved about BCNkitchen was that they actually talked about the ingredients. The class started off with a trip to the market to look at some local produce and what would end up using for cooking. Chef Alvaro talked about pros and cons of the ingredients and what other things they could be used for. It was also great... More
