What can you say about so many hundreds of years of history except that is stunning. The inside is as remarkable as the ancient exterior. There was a Mass going on when we were there which made it even more special.

Catedral de Barcelona is huge and very nicely decorated. There is a church service every hour where you can hear the organ play.

Santa Eulalia is entombed here. This is a beautiful gothic cathedral, with lots to see. Strongly recommend paying the 3 Euro to go up to the roof - fantastic views of Barcelona up there despite the scaffolding. If you aren't familiar with St. Eulalia the martyr, then I suggest you read up before you visit to put your visit in... More

The cathedral itself is fascinating but in it's foundations nestles the old Roman town, not to be missed. The depth of history is there for all to be seen and experienced by all.

We started our visit in the Cloisters complete with 13 swans (you can find out why inside) and although pretty busy with tourists it still felt calm and tranquil. The Cathedral itself is breathtaking inside but do remember to cover up and respect the churches protocols as some people were being turned away. We also walked around the whole of... More

We came across the cathedral really by accident - but it was one of those fortuitous things. Such a beautiful place - go through all the side doors you can and into the cloisters. Lovely, amazing and surprising place! Loved it

This cathedral was built around the 13th Century and was dedicated to Saint Eulalia, a young girl that was martyred and brutally killed. The architecture is stunning as well!

Worth a visit if you're in Barcelona, but nothing special. One of the only buildings you can visit for free in Barcelona, so that actually does make it special. Also, first church I ever visited that houses geese.
