The Palau de la Musica Catalana is one of the most representative monuments of Art Nouveau architecture.

An emblematic building of the Catalan Modernism, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.

Built between 1905 and 1908 by the great architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner, the Palau de la Musica Catalana is an architectural jewel of Barcelona and essential part of any visit to the city, as any of the most fascinating Gaudi buildings.

Amazing Building!

Well worth a visit. The design inside is incredible and the tours are very informative. The glass ceiling and the tiles are so beautiful. If you are able try to go to a concert.

This is the first place I've brought my husband to see in Barcelona two years back, he's a music fan and I knew he would love to visit it. It's a place to not to be missed and the tour it's excellent and they even show you how the organ sounds like. The ornaments and vitriol are exquisitely done, it's... More

We went on a guided tour here -- it was not cheap, but I enjoyed learning about the history and architecture of the building. Our guide was knowledgeable, and you get to hear the organ played briefly during the tour. There are also opportunities to take pictures, though since the group is rather large, you don't have a ton of... More

Thought that we would see a flamenco show in a beautiful building....and we did. But the show was SO much more than just that. I must say that I'm not a big fan of music and I really didn't think that the Spanish guitar music would interest me too much. Wow, was I wrong. I believe that I was privileged... More

This place was a dream for me to visit. I had the privilege of attending a concert of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and I was not only overwhelmed by the music: the hall is so overwhelming and literally every inch of the building is decorated with so much eye for detail. Just amazing. The most spectacular part perhaps is the... More

The building inside is a true work of art. All the seats on the second floor are great for seeing the show. I saw the opera flamenco which was a wonderful mix of the two. A must see for the shows and the ambience.

I saw opera Carmen which was not something to talk about, but the building is a must see and an experience to have.

Palau de la Musica is a special place with a very interesting history, architecture and amazing glass roof.Just only seeing that glass roof worth the ticket cost so I strongly recommend to visit it. Also in the end of the tour there was a short organ concert which was a very nice surprise.

Having read the trip advisor reviews I was prepared for the 10 minute video that you view at the start of the guided tour. After that your tour takes you to the main theatre as well as a preparation room and terrace. Stunning architecture. The tour is worth it to see the interiors - or else you could just buy... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
