I only heard of Miro when I visited Reina Sofia in Madrid. I was interested in his work so I decided to spare my time to visit this museum since my next stop was Barcelona. I went there quite late. Although I was rushed out of the gallery in the end, I enjoyed it a lot and became his fan.... More

Lovely museum, with a good chronology of Miro's work. However, our visit was marred by school groups of 25 or more, some teenagers, some pre-teens that made so much noise that viewing the works was painful. Management needs to establish some guidelines/expectations beforehand to avoid these disasters. I fault the schools for choosing this museum for students totally unprepared for... More

Unlike one or two others I thought this was an easy museum to get to and in a lovey setting. Take the funicular up from the metro stop and it's a five minute walk - we stopped for an ice cream in the park on the way. I am not a Miro fan but thought I had to go and... More

If Gaudi was the architectural expression of modern Barcelona, than Miro is the visual artist who expresses the spirit and vitality of this great city. The art is amazing and the building is a masterpiece of its own. The trip here is great. Take the funicular up the hill and combine with a visit to the castle on top of... More

Difficult to get to yet impossible not to love, this museum is a must-see for any visitor to Barcelona. If you are a fan of Miró or are already familiar with his work, you will be in awe of this collection, one of the most comprehensive collections of one person's art anywhere in the world. From three dimensional mobiles to... More

I went during a visit by a number of schools, the noise was like a nightclub, and as the kids will hanging around the pictures (but not looking) there were a few rooms that I could not even see a picture, which is a shame, as I love Miro. I if I can visit another time it will be better.

A very nice museum, and very nice campus, but a few thoughts (those of E.R.O., my friend): 1. the building was designed to allow indirect natural light through many sky lights, yet all are closed. Therefore the museum is much darker, and with much more artificial light, than these pieces were likely designed to be viewed under. And 2. lots... More

This is a must for any art lover. The museum covers Miro's work from the early years up until the latest pieces. These is a very nice café and of course souvenir shops. The Foundation also hosts interesting modern art expositions by other authors in one of its side-halls.

If you are a fan of Joan Miró, this is the place for you! It has a ton of his work, and the museum does a good job of putting his pieces on display. Personally I am not a huge fan of his, so it wasn't my cup of tea, but fans of him would really love this museum!
