Description: The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about...
The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about food. And lots of it! On this 2-3 hour food tour we stop in 3-4 small food establishments in either the famous Gothic or the lovely Gracia neighborhoods of Barcelona. Our venues range from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste. A knowledgeable and very friendly guide will safely lead you through this labyrinth of a neighborhood, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food, and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience.

We were four adults and three children (one only a year old) and this was a fun experience. Our tour took us around the area of our apartment in the Gothic area. First stop was a cheese tasting that introduced us to Spanish cheeses and a taste of wine. The best part were the tapas at the second stop where... More

Our guide, Clare met us as promised and we quickly proceeded to our first stop-a cheese shop. The second stop introduced us to Vermut which became the "must order" so we could compare flavors, the rest of our time in Barcelona. Our last two stops were equally interesting. The food was diverse and gaves us a great range of experiences.... More

We did this tour on our 3rd night in Barcelona having already eaten at several tapas bars ourselves. Therefore, we had already eaten many of the dishes and also understood how cheap it is to eat in Barcelona. At €80 euros each this tour in expensive in comparison to checking out recommended bars and eating yourself. We have found €40... More

I began this tour very enthusiastic about getting an insider's take on the Barcelona food scene. To my chagrin , the tour proved to be unsatisfactory and disappointing . Six tour participants each paid more than one hundred euros each for what turned out to be slim pickins as to the food offerings , the food quality and the establishments... More

We were driving into Barcelona and I was reading up about things to do in Rick Steves. Barcelona Taste sounded just up our alley, so I called from the car. Not knowing what to expect about reservations, Joe informed me that they were full that evening. I said, no problem, we were just checking on a whim. Joe told me... More

I met Jo and 3 other customers outside of a centrally located hotel. We spent about 3 hours visiting 3 different family run restaurants, each offering a different sort of tapas. We tried 4-5 different tapas per restaurant together with a selection of wine or beer or vermut in each. The restaurants were very charming, the food was great and... More

We were accompanied by Jo and 4 strangers who became food acquaintances by the end of the evening. Every place, every dish, and every drink was fabulous. The explanation of local culinary customs and variety was balanced and wonderful and the company was very congenial. We took a walk through the Gracias neighborhood and really enjoyed it. I highly recommend... More

After all the great reviews that Barcelona Taste has received, I must say that I had high expectations going in, and ended up being somewhat disappointed. I did the Gotica tour with Miguel and there were six of us in the group. We went to four restaurants with the goal being to survey the local cuisine. I found the food... More

What a great introduction to the Barri Gotic and the tapas scene! We went tip for delightful restaurants and had wonderful small plates of food. Don't worry, you won't leave hungry. We got lots of good information about the city and recommendations for more laces to try. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Had a great night on the Barcelona Taste tour. We went to three seperate places, and had amazing food at each place. There was plenty of food and our guide Jon perfectly described each dish. Wonderful experience - learned a lot and recommend to all!

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
