Description: The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about...
The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about food. And lots of it! On this 2-3 hour food tour we stop in 3-4 small food establishments in either the famous Gothic or the lovely Gracia neighborhoods of Barcelona. Our venues range from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste. A knowledgeable and very friendly guide will safely lead you through this labyrinth of a neighborhood, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food, and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience.

A highlight of our trip, and a MUST. An intimate tour, at wonderful off-the-beaten path places. Great food and drink (and plenty of it), but the best part was experiencing it with our guide, Tito. He was incredibly knowledgeable about food, wine, and everything Barcelona/Spain. He shared a ton of great insights about a range of things--history, food, wine-making, politics,... More

Like others we were in Barcelona for a few days before a cruise. I checked trip advisor for tours and this one jumped out. We lucked out as Joe was showing family and friends around as well as us. We visited four establishments, starting with cheese and wine and ending with cava and dessert. In between was a fine selection... More

We took this tour with Joe as our guide and enjoyed it immensely. Not only was the food varied and wonderful, we learned a lot about the neighborhood as we strolled through the Gothic quarter. I was stuffed by the end and had plenty to drink along the way between the wine, vermuth, cava and chocolate milk! We went back... More

Our group of 5 adults was arriving on Saturday afternoon into Barcelona and we wanted to do a small group walking tour to familiarise ourselves with local cuisine. After reviewing a range of tours online I booked The Barcelona Taste, Gracia tour which started at 7pm. Our guide Tito met us at the prearranged meeting spot right on time. Although... More

Our guide Anna was knowledgeable and fun, we had a lovely evening in the Gothic district in Barcelona. Cheese, wine, Vermuth, tapas of all kinds - we loved it!

My husband and I took two of the Tapas tours while in Barcelona both before and after our cruise. Our first tour, of the Gotico neighborhood, was led by Claire. We, along with 2 other couples, met her at the appointed time and place and proceeded to walk through the Gothic area to a few wonderful places. Claire was a... More

Our host, Tito, was an engaging, knowledgeable, and attentive young man. Clearly, most visitors have many opportunities to eat tapas and drink Spanish wines while in Barcelona, but this tour provided the chance to learn more about them and to interact with the proprietors of three small, charming restaurants in the Gracia neighborhood. My husband and I would have known... More

This was a great introduction to Tapas in Barcelona and specifically in the Grácia neighborhoood. We were staying in an apartment in this area and thought it would be a great way to orient ourselves and experience authentic tapas. Our guide, Jon, was excellent and did a great job highlighting the specialities of each of the 3 restaurants we visited.... More

An amazing variety of tapas that highlighted regional specialities in three different restaurants. Our guide was friendly, knowledgable and led us on a great culinary exploration. I would highly recommend this tour. Bring an appetite, you'll need it because you'll want to try every one of the wide variety of tasty dishes.

An unbelievable night of food, education and fun. From the moment we met Jon and joe our guides the night just flew by in a culinary haze of excellence. Superb tour guides and fantastic choices of restaurants made it a once in a lifetime experience. They engaged 12 young hospitality students from the first minute until we finished our last... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
