Sandra was terrific! She took us to the main sites as well as all sorts of out of the way places. She told us so much about the history and culture of Catalonia. And she was a lot of fun!

Ana was such a great guide! She was knowledgeable and was thorough in her explanations and information she provided. After seeing the beaches, we had enough time to ride up to the W Hotel and enjoy the views from that point. Highly recommend the bike tour of Barcelona!

Sandra is an amazing guide/owner offering the BEST of Barcelona with tons of knowledge. She delivered enthusiasm, history, passion, laughs, minute by minute. As a native of Barcelona, she has a heart for the history and the balance of old and new throughout the city. She nurtured our group to ensure our safety in the hustle and bustle of the... More

We recently took a school group of 20 students, aged 16-19, to Barcelona for the first time. They were booked in for a 4 hour walking tour and we were worried this might be too long, but our tour guide Christina was absolutely fantastic! She factored in breaks for them, and as the tour was longer than usual, she showed... More

A great way to be introduced to the finer sights of the city. Walk the steps of Picasso, drink coffee from the same table where he started as a teenage boy. Pass the thresholds of palaces and down the lanes in the Gothic area where Christoph Columbus, Gaudi and even the evil Inquisitors walked and lived their lives. This and... More

We took a day trip to Sitges and started the day with a walking tour by Walking Planets. After a 30 minute train ride from Barcelona we met our guide, the lovely Sandra, at the Sitges train station. We spent a great 3 or 4 hours exploring everything that Sitges had to offer. Sandra's a true local and she made... More

If you are planning a Barcelona trip do not go without taking this tour! Sandra is a native who knows more about her city's culture and history than anything you could put together yourself. The streets, walls and buildings come alive while walking with her through the real Barcelona. Her ability to connect with people is amazing and the information... More

If you want to explore Barcelona's through the eyes of a local, then Walking Planets is the way to do it. I had been to Barcelona several times and done loads of tours of Barcelona before my first walking planet experience and I haven't looked back since. While you might hear some of the same stories, Walking Planet guides bring... More

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
