My husband and I did the Tapas tour on the bike with Peter, we were in Barcelona for 10 days and this was definitely the best tour!! Peter took the time to find out where we had been and what our plans where for the rest of our stay and ensured we saw new sites. The tapas stops were amazing,... More

My girlfriend and I had a blast on our tapas tour. We took the van with another family and had an awesome time. We went to places that we wouldn't have heard of otherwise and tasted some of the best food we've ever had. There was no set menu and we were free to order whatever we pleased. Joao is... More

Thank you to BrightSide and Quim our tour guide. My husband and I couldn't of asked for a better way to get a feel for the city and it's surrounding areas. Quim was a fantastic guide, easy going and shared just enough history and background information. I was very impressed with the small touches such as having cava and glasses... More

I organised 3 bikes as a surprise for my family there where 6 of us including my husband and our 4 adult children. Its by no way the cheapest way to tour Barcelona, but i am certain its the best. Our 3 guides where wonderfully knowing of Barcelona's history, architecture, food and people... they cover it all. The guides are... More

We did this tour as two couples and were picked up directly at the Arts Hotel right on time. We chose the half day 4 & 1/2 hour tour Jaio, the owner is lovely and obviously is very proud of his city. Hi employee was amazing as well. We had a blast driving through the streets and alleyways of Barcelona,... More

My wife and I love food and wine tours during our travels and this one was great. We took the four hour tapas tour through the city with Peter. During our week stay in Barcelona we had not yet experienced what we felt were amazing tapas until we went on the Brightside tour. Peter took us to tapas restaurants we... More

We recently booked a 4 hour city tour for our shore excursion in Barcelona. Our guide, Joao, is down right an expert in the city's historical background (but didn't bore us with the not so important details) and definitely a very charming, friendly and handy person with the little ones (shout out to all the single ladies ;)) In my... My boyfriend and I did the wine tour and had the most amazing time. Being in the sidecar was thrilling and gave great visibility of the city. Our tour guide was kind and knew a lot about Barcelona. We were then taken up into a winery, where the woman there gave us an in-depth tour of the winery and how... More

Our family of four arrived that afternoon and we got picked up at our hotel by Joao and Jordi to begin our initial tour of Barcelona. 3/4 of us had no idea what we were in for but all of us had our expectations exceeded. The fun loving nature of our drivers/guides combined with their knowledge of the city and... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
