Great hangout on a nice day

Large square with atmosphere housing sidewalk cafes and restaurants and some shops. If you are lucky, you will be able to enjoy the local entertainment in the central gazebo.

The Plázaro Mayor is very nice and next to the cathedral. It is a pity that in summer theres are music performances which require awfull big technical installations.

This is the heart of the city. A fine example of a plaza mayor. Locals and tourists alike passing through all day long. Great bars/restaurants with tables and umbrellas set up around the plaza. Grab a table, order a beer, and watch the people go by.

A small Plaza Mayor to look round and the church is quite lovely and very peaceful worth a look, a few bars/ restesraunts, you always get a free tapas with a drink. Look for the sign to walkway down to the viaduct lots of shops etc and bars and eating places, Sucking pig is the best ever can be expensive.

Calm and peaceful, large square with the cathedral on one side and a plaza at the centre. Shops around where I can eat and do touristy shopping. Nice place to chill

A smaller version of Madrid's main square. Segovia is a far quieter city than the former but it does mean you can absorb more detail about the individual buildings in this square. Its true that, if you wander just a few feet from the Plaza Major, you will be able to enjoy the same food for several euros less; however,... More

A small picturesque plaza. Not much to see, but a good place to sit for awhile, relax and take in the view of the cathedral.

Great town center with wonderful views of the cathedral and bell tower that are nicely illuminated at night.

Unlike other "Plaza Mayor" around Spain which are architecturally uniform, this one stands out for presenting buildings from many different periods. From the romanic San Miguel Church, where Isabel la Catolica was crowned Queen of Castilla, to the gothic Cathedral and the Imperial City Hall. Always steaming with people, with many bars and restaurants nearby.
