The Plaza Mayor is the main square, (hence the name), of old Segovia. Follow the Calle Real which is the main thoroughfare which joins the Plaza del Azoguejo to the Plaza Mayor. You will find interesting monuments, buildings, arcades, the gothic style- Cathedral of Segovia, restaurants and café’s within the open central pavilion. If you haven’t picked up your maps... More

Segovia offers a few things. Being here at night was special. We recommend getting to Segovia like we did in the late afternoon, seeing the alcazar empty, staying the night and enjoying the little streets and restaurants that are not crowded then. The streets and square are lit up nicely and it has a different feel than in the day.... More

Yes- as was noted, this is "bustling hub ". A large, spacious square with a good number of cafes and restaurants, a bandstand, a large historic 1917 theatre, a good candy shop and a tourist/information office too!

The ideal place to rest after seightseeing in beautiful Segovia! Just a 10 min. walk from Acueduct, with beautiful buildings and nice cafes and a kiosk in the middle.Unfortunately in early November cafes were almost closed there but in other spots we found some open. You can enjoy the back of the Cathedral from this square. Is very romantic place in... More

A great spot of the old city - just don't eat there, there are better and cheaper restaurants not too far.

The Plaza Mayor is a real bustling hub near the Cathedral. Very photogenic (like most of Segovia!) and historic

Walking in to the square gave me the same feeling I used to get when I used to travel from the east coast to the Midwest in the US. You hit ohio and everything opens up. It was beautiful up to then but there is something of the open spaces that transcends what you see and expresses what you feel... More

This Plaza is huge and a great place to sit and people watch with a drink in your hand - there is quite often entertainers performing for free and it is just a lovely atmosphere
