Amazing place where you can find, without doubt, the "Plazas Mayor" most beautiful in the country. I recommend

It was a bit rainy when I was in Salamanca, but the plaza stayed full of people. Many little shops (plus the tourist info center) and in itself, a stunning piece of architecture. It's also a 'cut through' for many other sites in Salamanca. Truly the 'center' of old town

Plaza Mayor is gorgeous with its beautiful historical buildings. As the rest of the town is in the same colours. Personally I like it more during the night than day... All around the place are cafés, shop with souvenirs etc. Since Salamanca is "students city" there is always something going on, you can see people in costumes almost every day

Beautiful square built in the 18th century in the Baroque style and completely circled by buildings. Noteworthy the facade of the town hall. Definitely worth a stop by.

When I was 15 I spend two months in Salamanca. And what I remember the most is the plaza. I used to go every day just to see people passing by. I really enjoyed that. Also there are so many shops or restaurants to visit.

A really beautiful and historic square. There is a lively atmosphere and we took far too many photographs, but who cares! There are lots of restaurants and a few shops around the square. If you visit Salamanca you must visit the Plaza Mayor in daylight and then go back at night when it's all floodlit!

Of all of the Plazas I've seen in Spain, the one in Salamanca has been the mot impressive. When the weather is nice it fills up quick as people take a break on the clean surface and there is always a good atmosphere here, be it at lunch time or late in the night.

I got to stay at this place. My hotel was located in the center of this old castle. The locals, that party in the city center, were friendly and just so much fun to talk to... I highly recommend this area to any and all travelers.

Just the most beautiful square. Go to enjoy the architecture, the floodlights at night, the music, the plentiful cafes (expensive, but good). Stunning.

No matter what time of year you visit Salamanca, a must see is the Plaza Mayor. Filled with folks many times of the day and evening, there are many outside cafes as well as other shops. You might see some special banners before Easter week. Or in summer look for the bull atop the highest point...means the September Vega festival... More
