a beautiful park near the cathedrals. There is a well in the center where couples can place a lock with their initials. Supposedly the setting for La Celestina.

Even in October the gardens were pleasant. Find a bench and look out over the edge of the city into the countryside. (Alert: do not eat an olive off the tree like I did. Horrid!! Save your olive craving for tapas time. Lol.)

Our visit was probably a bit early in the year, to see any real blossoms, but the well with all the locks on was quite interesting to look at, and the views across the countryside were lovely, especially as we visited on the hottest day of our visit. Behind the cathedral looking over the southern wall of the city is this garden, where Spain's version of Romeo and Juliet supposedly took place. It's become a lovers spot. Bring a lock and a lover to make it official.

we had a wonderful weather so it was very nice to find this little garden full of history and memories of Calisto y Melibea, main characters of the famous book ¨La Celestina ¨
