Due to the fact that the new cathedral was built right beside its older sister, even taking away a part. the older building might easily be overlooked. But do make sure that if you enter the larger building you do find the 'museum' entrance and enjoy this romanesque beauty. I wouldn't argue as strongly as my fellow reviewer - actually... more

Forget the main cathedral in Salamanca and go looking for the Romanesque gem which is hidden in the corner and accessible only by paying an admission charge to the 'museum'.The museum is in fact the original cathedral and houses the best romanesque art and architecture I have seen outside of northern Italy.
