This is a cutting edge contemporary art gallery with various interesting installations and pictures. Lost of the work is by young artists and it well presented as there is lots of space.

Indisputably the most striking and memorable building in Leon. (That isn't to say that the cathedral, say, isn't memorable, but if you've already seen other Gothic cathedrals the impact's rather dulled.) I think it's beautiful too. Next time I go to Spain, I'd like to go inside, to see the interior space, and to find out if there's any special... More

The building is interesting but the exhibitions are poor. I suggest to go there only for the building and give a look to the museum shop.

We have seen many contemporary museums in the world of varying quality and can definetely state that this was the worst. The performance act was tedious (videos of aerial views of parked trucks and women getting their hair washed in buckets) and the exhibits ridiculous (one hall just had mounds of miscellaneous building material). I can state that the entrance... More

This museum is incredibly "ugly modern" on the outside. But the show I went to there was fascinating and surprising. It was on feminist art of Spain which arrived in Spain rather late because of the Franco dictatorship. The show was very well done.

I was disappointed in the current exhibition about Feminism at MUSAC. I plan to return when the exhibition has changed. It's worth a visit if you're in town. Admission (at least for students) is free on Sunday.

Leon is a place well known abroad among art connaisseurs because of its impressive Cathedral and churches, its barrio húmedo and so on. If you visit the town for the first tile and are interested in contemporary art, visiting MUSAC is a must. Contemporary architecture and its functional limitations (whith international prizes included) cannot hide a well-balanced global program of... More

The building that houses the museum is very modern and colorful. The admission rates are very reasonable. It's better to go in the afternoon so as to take advantage of the guided tour.

Not the best art museum I've ever been to, but some really interesting stuff from local and international artists. I think most of the exhibits are temporary. The building is really cool, and there is a really nice cafeteria and gift shop.
