the best thing is that a little group accompanied by a guide could listen and learn part of Spain's history which is housed in here

It's an interesting visit with many historical features. History enthousiasts would surely love it. However if you're not really into history it may be a little boring.

Some beautiful afresco paintings at theceiling, well mantained, well restored, vivid colours and that beautiful Medieval drawing. You do not have much of that paintings all over Europe, only in some places. And Leon is sure one of them.

The beautiful frescos are just a must see. The craftsmanship is so amazing . Romanesque chapel of the Kings of Leon in the Royal Pantheon. The medieval art in the museum is a must ! The library holds hundreds of manuscripts, art and the jeweled chalice now believed to be the chalice of Jesus in the last supper.

The ancient church is wonderful, esp. the Door of the Lamb with the equestrian statue of St Isidore high above the porch, but the highlight for most people will be the museum-section, for which you pay extra, and which has its own door and opening times. This is where the so-called Pantheon is, with many stone coffins that once held... More

The manuscripts and artifacts were breathtaking but the burial vaults of the Spanish nobility could have had some labelling

The Basilica is just OK, but make sure you see the Royal Pantheon and museum. I've seen lots of holy relics in my lifetime, but this place is very special. Totally worth the 5 euros to get in. The highlight for me was the incredible Frescos. It took awhile to figure them all out (since there is no information in... More

To be able to see the artistry of craftsmen who frescoes the walls and ceilings of this small chapel within the church is one of th wonders of the world hidden in Northern Spain. Let it remain so for centuries to come.

A wonderful and historycal building. Take care with the time to "siesta", or you won't visit it. Nice place and little stores around.

There are two parts to this visit: the Basilica, which is free, but not much to see, and the Panteon, which requires an admission fee, but it is absolutely worth it. We went here after we had a lukewarm reaction to the Cathedral - beautiful, no doubt - but it felt very familiar. However, the ceiling frescos in the Panteon... More
