Beautiful, with all architectural characteristics, in stone, well done. A good place for you to stay for a while and think about what life is, what did you do whith yours. I like quiet places to be in, sometimes. Now that I am retired, it is a good thing to do.

They are in a multi-decade effort to clean all of the windows. Even dirty, they are magnificent and set this cathedral apart from others. I have not seen a cathedral with this many stained glass windows. Don't miss this if you are in the area.

I enjoyed the grandeur of this cathedral. There are 125 stained glass windows. The rose windows are just magnificent. The wooden carved choir stalls are just so beautiful. I enjoyed it all. Just so beautiful.

Like many other Gothic cathedrals (Santiago, Reims…), it's vast, but the stained glass is even more gorgeous, like high walls of colour running along both sides of the nave and round the apse. The stone is also especially beautiful. Santiago, Cologne, etc have nothing to compare with the towering white facade of Leon. The audio-guides here are even worse than... More

The biggest thing in comparison for an Australian is Uluru. The cathedral, as are most cathedrals, is BIG. I loved being away from the crowd but still surrounded by such wonderful cultural and historical relics from hundred or thousands of years past. In many other countries, these relics would be safeguarded beyond the ability to sit and be alone with... More

if you read up on it, Leon has a lot of history behind it. also this cathedral has beautiful stained glass windowns fronting a very people friendly plaza. the cathedral is great but its proximity to the bars and restaurants in the old town makes it feel accessible and friendly.

Spectacular but you need to appreciate Baroque style or you could be phased by it. The surrounding area is a must and allow yourself plenty of time.

Awesome, especially when you include the museum. The amount and quality of stained glass plus other detail, both inside and out is magnificent. And to think the town only had around 5000 occupants when it was erected! A fitting meeting point in the Camino de Santiago.

We were walking the Camino and splurged on a room in the Parador San Marcos which was wonderful, after we settled in we walked to the Square and enjoyed a wine sitting in the sun with the Cathedral only about 10 steps away. I eventually explored the interior, it is very interesting and the stained glass is beautiful.
