This is a wonderful place to learn about the transition of architecture in the early 1200s. The admission is reasonable and they give you a recording to guide you in your visit in one's own language.

Now this is a very fine cathedral indeed, in a consistent Gothic style much of which would not be out of place anywhere is Western Europe. No changes of style according to the whims of the church authorities of the time (as at Santiago); the style is consistent from its beginnings in the 13th century to its completion in the... More

Beautiful medieval cathedral rescued from the brink of destruction. The cathedral is awe inspiring even more so when considering the cities population was around 5000 people and it was built within a generation.head phone tours are available in a number of languages.

The cathedral is impressive in many ways. The architecture is quite interesting but its main attraction are the stained-glass windows that are simply stunning in beauty and numbers. Worth a visit.

Beautiful, with all architectural characteristics, in stone, well done. A good place for you to stay for a while and think about what life is, what did you do whith yours. I like quiet places to be in, sometimes. Now that I am retired, it is a good thing to do.

They are in a multi-decade effort to clean all of the windows. Even dirty, they are magnificent and set this cathedral apart from others. I have not seen a cathedral with this many stained glass windows. Don't miss this if you are in the area.

I enjoyed the grandeur of this cathedral. There are 125 stained glass windows. The rose windows are just magnificent. The wooden carved choir stalls are just so beautiful. I enjoyed it all. Just so beautiful.

Like many other Gothic cathedrals (Santiago, Reims…), it's vast, but the stained glass is even more gorgeous, like high walls of colour running along both sides of the nave and round the apse. The stone is also especially beautiful. Santiago, Cologne, etc have nothing to compare with the towering white facade of Leon. The audio-guides here are even worse than... More

The biggest thing in comparison for an Australian is Uluru. The cathedral, as are most cathedrals, is BIG. I loved being away from the crowd but still surrounded by such wonderful cultural and historical relics from hundred or thousands of years past. In many other countries, these relics would be safeguarded beyond the ability to sit and be alone with... More
